KDonhoops: Doc knows how to move guys. Thibs knows how to move pieces around a grease board, and they'll both miss each other next year. Thibs, more so, will miss Doc.

I think this sums up exactly how I view Doc and Thibs.

I'd argue the opposite, except maybe in the long view.

If only because Thibodeau has put himself in great position to hit the ground running - major market media scrutiny aside: Del Negro isn't a hard act to follow; the Bulls already stand to improve along with Rose and Noah; and the light at the end of the tunnel is TBA free agent Bull-to-be...

Rivers, assuming he even stays the course, has the more fraught year ahead. He's coming off a wildly uneven regular season and thrilling Finals run with a core in flux of veterans and strong personalities.

Yeah, very accurate summary.

Thibs was a defensive guru long before he came to the Celts.

I don't think anyone was saying he wasn't.

What I interpret the quote as saying is they both excel but at different ends of coaching. Doc is the consummate manager and motivator and Thibs the consummate X's and O's guy. They both can probably do what the other guy is great at but would never get the results to the extent that they would if they stayed together.

I hope Thibs has someone remind him to sub from time to time. The whole starting lineup playing 48 mins could have them tired by the end of November.

In all sincerity here's too hoping he does well in Chicago (except against Boston) but, I have feeling he won't be there very long.
