You know if you take Rondo turnovers away and he made some  heady plays he was on his way to a triple double last night. Rondo needs to take what Bryant is giving him go to the rack and draw that body contact....its always open. He doesnt have to shoot it he can create but the guys have to move. We are giving the Lakers the game on a silver platter. I dont care what anyone say about we got out hustle I saw some fouls where the ref swallow their whistle man you guys have to admit Gasol was getting away with the lower back push just to much mugging going on and along with our bad play.

If Rondo struggles, we're just going to have to sink with the ship at this point.  As he goes, the team goes.

Nate will play some minutes, but Rondo has to play better for us to function properly.

Robinson simply isn't anywhere near Rondo's league.  He's a streak (good) shooter who has shown he'll jack up jumpers when they shouldn't be shot .  He won't get team into offense.

Who said he was in Rondo's league.  If Rondo struggles like he did last night, then Nate would probably be better than Rondo, at least in that game.  No reason to go down because Rondo is stinking up the joint.
Nate was worse than Rondo last night.

My biggest problem with Rondo last night and game 5 also, was that he was very careless with the ball. The team is down 10-15 points and he's trying to make fancy passes. I assume they will continue to get their butts kicked on the boards, but they can control turnovers. Rondo needs to make good sold passes anstead of looking flashy. If the Celtics are up by 20 with 2 minutes to go, than go ahead and have fun, but otherwise, take care of the ball.

That was last night.  If Rondo struggles big time in game 7, I don't hesitate to try to see if Nate has something to offer.  He'll play better with the starters.

I also think this game was much more a case of us playing bad vs. the Lakers playing well.  Artest did come out some but other than that, the Lakers played about like they have.  The final score was 89-67, it is not like they ran us out of the building by scoring 120 points or something.

Semantics. They didn't run us out of the building. They beat us out of the building.

Why are you mentioning 120 points when they held us to 67? The lead was actually more than 22 before the benches emptied. They score around 30% more points than us. they crushed us.

They Lakers played well. We played poorly because they played defense. Any them playing well versus us playing poorly argument is completely pointless. They are two sides of the same coin. It is basically a refusal to face reality.

If Nate plays great, he gets minutes like in game 4. There is no need for a dramatic thread like this. Nate getting minutes is tied more to how Nate plays than how Rondo plays.

I don't think giving up on Rondo and abandoning the formula that brought us here is the best strategy to win.  Rondo has a chance to be the difference maker in game 7, let's hope he seizes the moment!

Yup,

And when Ray misses his first couple of shots, put in Finley.
As soon as PP throws a couple of lazy stupid passes, put in TA.
When Baby gets a couple of shots blocked, get Sheldon in there!

I think one of the purposes of this thread was to ask the question "If Rondo sucks as much in Game 7 as he did in Game 6, what do we do?"

I think the answer to that question is running the offense more through Paul Pierce.  The question then becomes who is a more effective running mate, a Rondo who isn't playing well, or Nate?

Of course, I'm expecting this conversation to be moot, because I think Rondo will play "with speed", as Doc likes to say.  If he does, we win.

Thanks, Roy, for clearing things up. tp

I like Rondos attitude after this game, he's like I already forgot about this game cant wait till the next one. He had that little smile like hes going to be on the attack.

I would have taken fifteen shots too if my opponent wasn't guarding me.

This is why we have a coach, someone who see's what's going on and makes the appropriate moves to change it.

This game is for all the marbles and he knows that as well as anyone.  I think he'll do whatever he needs to do to help this team win #18, as he should.  If Rondo is pulled it wouldn't be the first time and it will be forgotten as soon as the buzzer sounds and the celebration begins.  No one on this team is bigger than the organization and the ultimate goal of winning a championship.
