I have seen it before but I have been trying to ignore it.  Now I have to come out and say it.  To me, it looks like from time to time, Rondo get a bit too cute with his play/passes and I think its showing with the increase in the amount of turn-overs he is getting.

And as for our sets.  Could we get into our sets a bit sooner.  As an example, KG got the ball on the block countless of times and basically waited to be double teamed almost every time.  It look to me, he could turn baseline and have an almost uncontested shot/dunk.

He's just painfully inconsistent.

But you already knew this about him. In this playoffs he has struggled to put back to back dominating performances.

As he grows and matures we will see more consistentcy

I agree, we and Rondo especially can stick to our basic skills a bit better with our passing (and with lakers defence active, we should fake the pass once b4 passing it, otherwise they get too many deflections)

Which also brings me to a point, why don't teams (and us sometimes, but more so other professional and unprofessional teams) have active hands more often, just by having your hands up can create more turnovers.

And I totally agree with KG holding the ball for too long, he's a good enough passer that when he gets doubled when he goes to work, he can pass the ball. He doesn't need to wait for the double to come then pass.

P.S. sorry for going a bit off topic

Pretty good observations. Rondo was awful last night - but he had plenty of company in green.

We have been slow for quite awhile getting into our sets, which causes problems when the other team decides to defend, as the Lakers did last night.

Celtics have definitely been slow to get into their halfcourt offense.  I've been calling out Rondo on a number of occasions this series in the game threads about how his turnovers are coming off careless or showboat passes rather than making the basic, smart pass.  It's like he's believing his hype since game 2 and he's trying to be a highlight reel instead of a solid PG.

the rest of the team has been very sloppy with their passes as well.  so many times they've just gone on autopilot with where they pass it and don't pay attention to the laker that's sitting there waiting to pick off the pass.  too many games where the C's offense is in a fog and it's killing their productivity.

Rondo hasn't been good since destroying Jason Williams in Game 3 of the ECF.

This includes, IMO, the triple double he got in Game 2 of the Finals. I felt it was the worst triple double I have ever seen a player get.

Since that Game 3 of the ECF, Rondo's assist to turnover ration is a meager 2.62, significantly worse than the 3.22 he posted during the regular season. Rondo's also only averaged a pedestrian 7 assists per game & 1.67 steals per game since then.

When Rondo is dominating, he is agressive on the offensive end & the defensive end. He's supposed to cause problems on defense to ignite the break.

Our offense as a whole has been pretty awful over these Finals.

Who else are we to point to, if not your Point Guard?

Frustrated.

For the first time in his career, a team has designed their entire defense around stopping him.

Teams have cheated off of him before, but have never focussed on stopping him the same way the Lakers have.
"All I have to know is, he's my coach, and I follow his lead. He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." - Teddy Bruschi
