We don't.

If Perk is out, we're done.

If he is playing, and quite efficiently... I like our chances. So here is hoping for a Perk quick recovery.

We've bounced back from tough losses before and we do love to get things done the hard way. Nothings gets harder than this. Our guys have to be looking forward to a Game 7 win. That's the only explanation I can think of for why we started so flat tonight.

I think whenever we play hard defend, rebound and limit the turnovers we put ourselves in a good position to win. Much tougher without Perk but I trust Doc will come up with a good way to maximize the bigs rotation. Hoping Perk will be ready though. A few minutes from him like in our 2008 Game 6 win will be a big help.

Well said I was going to make this post, our chances of winning the championship highly rely on Perks status. We dont have rhythm any other way with a quick turnaround of Sheed starting.

In one game, especially in game 7, anything can happen. This team proved that they can overcome the odds and even without Perk I wouldn't bet against them.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Bynum doesn't play or has a bad game that way we won't need/miss Perk's presence as much. The good Celtics show up and not the ones that went 27-27. The refs allow us to play physical defense. Rondo has a good game.

Keys to game 7?

Its simple remember that this is our last chance to win a title.
Remember that its game 7.
Remember that you gotta leave it all out there on both ends.
Remember that this is the last game and a game away from the title.
Remember that this is the closest you'll get to the title.
Remember that you can beat this team!

Celtics will lose if Perk doesn't play.

Take that to the bank.

I just wanted to wish Perkins the best on behalf of Laker Nation. That was one of those plays where as soon as you saw the replay you knew it was bad.  :-\

From an opponent's perspective, I actually think that his loss is felt even more on the offensive end, despite him having the defensive reputation that he has. You guys have exceptional interior defense with or without him, but he's your primary screener on the offensive end and helps a lot of other guys get looks.

That being said, your rebounding definitely suffers, which was huge tonight. Anyway...I hope he's okay.

You would hope the people that remained so negative on the Celtics hopes during the regular season would have learned their lesson, but alas...

Not that this is some magic panacea; however, even if Perk can play, I'd deactivate Finley and activate Scal. He could be useful when Odom is on the court.

And I'd take Daniels over Finley.  Right now Finley's too slow to handle Kobe.  Not that either is playing, but if push came to shove, I'd take Daniels.

Honestly for one game, I think they only problem with Perk not being there is if Sheed gets in foul trouble early.  Bynum at this point can only really play one stretch in the first half. Once he sits, he can't come back.  So that somewhat mitigates the loss of Perk.

The key is BBD needs to have a big game.  And his history has been that he's at his best when it really counts.

I see the loss of Perk as certainly inconvenient, but they can definitely win a Game 7 without him.

I've learned my lesson - there's a consistent thread, through the regular season and the post-season (one of very few).  When the Celtics have their starting lineup intact, they are a very good team.  When the starting lineup is messed up, they're significantly worse.

Perk is critical to the success of this team, even if he isn't a star and only plays 25 minutes a night.

This.

Perk is good and all but he is NOT the be all and end all of this team. He's a big body who shoots free throws pretty well. Are you guys seriously placing a finals win on the shoulders of Kendrick Perkins?? Wow.

He's averaging 6 and 6. Its not that serious.
