so sick of hearing "Derek Fisher is a nice guy"

I believe Mike Breen said it yesterday, that Derek Fisher is "one of the nicest guys in the NBA". That's such bull. While I'll admit his image is sparkling and he always presents himself very professionally and amicably, the truth lies beneath that facade.

Actions speak louder than words, and Derek Fisher has always been a cheap, dirty player. Unless you're Artest-crazy and you're just doing that stuff to get inside your opponent's head, or just emotional and you can't control yourself, I think it speaks volumes about your character. Fisher's cheap shots are 100% cold and calculated. Definitely NOT a nice guy.

That play right there tells you all you need to know about the kind of player he is. I can give people a pass, but I've seen enough of him to know that wasn't his anger getting the best of him-it's who he is.

Totally agree. Fisher is one of the dirtiest players in the league and a cheap shot artist, and a big flopper too. Can't stand him and his "nice guy" reputation, I don't even know where it comes from anymore.

Basically he doesn't like screens - they work well on him and he probably gets leveled by them.

So he decides I'll run to my spot and hit the guy before... that should have been a game suspension btw - if you pause at the moment of contact Scola is in his stance, and Fisher has left his feet and rammed head first into Scola's jaw.

I've seen him do smaller versions of this in the series.

I think his off court image and the daughter illness get him a lot of sympathy/respect, which translates to "nice guy" status. He's dirty on the floor though.

It seems like a lot of the so called nice guys off the court are cheap shot artists on the court.  Chris Paul, John Stockton, etc.  It's strange.

I dont mind guys who exaggerate contact to get the call, as it should have been a foul.

I hate guys who make up contact or exaggerate normal picks, etc., to get the call.

haha I agree, it was him and Ray that got into a scuffle they were like "2 of the nicest guys in the NBA..." I'm thinking yea right Fisher is dirty.

Have to concur ... Fish is one of the worst in the NBA on the court for "cheap-shots" and flopping ... I put him in the same category as Bowen, Artest, J.O., etc..
