for the celts right now in this series it is clearly BBD

but the only logical choice is rondo...the c's would be on the couch if not for him and even tonight during an off game he makes a big time play
Looking for a Sig designer....obviously i will be greatful with tps.

Looking for a Wire - Rondo theme....PM with ideas and I'll tp

I had never seen some Finals before where there is really no clear favorite for the MVP trophy. For the Lakers I would say it's Gasol followed by Fisher (I'm sorry I wouldn't put Kobe on the list, the guy is jacking up shots like Monta Ellis, sure he made a lot of them last night but he is playing right into the C's gameplan).

For the Celtics... wow, I have no clue! I would say Rondo for "consistency" because he was huge in game 2, OK in game 3, but bad in games 4 and 1. Ray had 1 great game, 1 terrible one (game 3), 1 subpar one (game 4 but he was huge in the 4th), same for KG and Pierce... tough to say.

And yes, Baby has been huge in every game (and Sheed)!

The thing is, I'm not even sure we will have a guy who steps in as the favorite for MVP in the next two games because this team simply plays collective basketball and rarely has the same leading scorer or "impacter". But overall I would say Rondo, especially if he has one other great game.

Actually, Paul deserves the MVP for one reason and one reason only... he clocked Eddie F. Rush right in the face with a beautiful right hook. I've been wanting to do that for years.

IF we win this series, which i think we will, it will only happen because Paul was able to break down there defense and get his numbers.

So far it works like this:

Game 1- Paul Pierce
Game 2- Ray Allen/Rajon Rondo
Game 3- Kevin Garnett
Game 4- Paul Pierce

^ Yep. Jerry West against the Celts in '69.

Actually, that would finish the whole '69 season parallel, wouldn't it?  Let Kobe average 50 a game, and the Celts win!
Yup

I don't think it's Rondo.  He's really had only one great game.  Right now, believe it or not I'm going to say Big Baby.  Why?  Because even though he's a bench player, he's been the most consistent player.  He's given the team something in each of the 4 games.  Can't say the same for anyone else.

Of course that can all change in the next few games depending on who steps up.  Hope it doesn't end up being a Laker. :-X

If Ray Allen hadn't followed up his amazing game 2 shooting with two clunkers it'd be him.

I think its still up in the air, with Rondo being the most likely winner. But if the C's win whomever has the biggest close out game is the likely winner.

Definitely Pierce. He has been our most consistent defender BY FAR.

Every other player has been inconsistent defending the Lakers, from Rondo to Ray to KG to Perk.

Also, Pierce was the only starter in game 4 keeping us in the game for the first 3 quarters.

Rondo's defense has been fine. Fisher's been extremely quiet this series.

Ya I think Rondo is the choice at this point, but its also true that in both wins, Nate came in during the 4th quarter and made huge contributions.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Obviously who wins the series, and who steps up for the remainder of the series will help determine who wins the MVP, but the way things are going, if the C's win this thing, who on earth is the MVP?

Even just looking at the first 4 games, who do you give it to?  The Celts have had a ton of guys step up, but they've had some big disappearing acts too.

I'd say the bench deserves a collective MVP nod so far.

Oh, and if the unthinkable happens, it's all Kobe's.

There is still too much basketball to be played. This is now a best 2 of 3 series. If Boston wins, right now, I would say the MVP would be Glen Davis or Nate Robinson, but...make no mistake about it, if the Celtics are to win this series, Pierce or KG will have to be our MVP.

For the Lakers, I think the MVP is Bynum. I don't think they can beat us with out Bynum playing at a high level. I may be wrong, but thats just how I see it.

Somebody has to say it... Scal.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

Wow, I can't beleive all the people saying Rondo.  In my mind two of his four games in this series have been atrocious and one so-so.  Unless we are giving him points for the Cleveland series, which I don't think fits the criteria.

Honestly I don't think this story has been written yet for the C's.

For the Lakers I'd go with Gashol over Kobe.  For all the talk about PP's shooting struggles, he's shooting better than Kobe in this series.  Kobe has been a volume shooter which is never good when you have big men that have dominated their opposition.  Kobe's also averaging over four t/o's per game and not really doing much assist wise.
I think Gashol has been the story of these finals for LA on both ends.

Did you watch the fourth quarter of game 3?
