I don't care anymore either. I just want the c's to win. I want it for Wyc, Danny, Doc, the big4 and all the way down to 5'9" Nate!

Well if Bynum can't go, Doc's message should be clear... go at Gasol and Odom hard and often. Would be so critical to have either of them in foul trouble. The whole length advantage would be completely nullified, and we'd actually be the ones with length.

I wonder if Phil would put Artest at PF when BBD comes in. Obviously Lamar is getting owned by him so far.

Idc I want Bynum to play.

I want to beat the Lakers at full strenght.

As long as the C's get 18, it doesn't matter to me!  ;D

That's true, but I rather beat LA at full strength.

I don't want Laker fans to have any excuses.

Yep - me too. I hope the young fella is ok..I really do. But that being said - we beat them already with Bynum (Game 2). And I hope he is ready for Game 5. No Excuses - And I hope Sheed is well, too.

He looked terrible tonight. He wasn't moving well at all. I hope they don't do more damage on that knee. At this point, Bynum playing benefit the Celtics. So I hope he comes back in game5.

Seriously, why should we care if Bynum is hurt? I don't recall too many teams holding candlelight vigils for us last year without KG and Powe.

And Bynum being hurt isn't exactly a fluke. Kobe getting hurt is a fluke. Bynum's fragile as a tulip and has been his whole career. I hope he's done for the series.

Again, this is not a thread about letting the Lakers off the hook if Bynum can't go.  What is the effect on the team if he can't go?  How significant of an advantage would it give the Celtics?

Are the Lakers any better equipped to go without him than they were two years ago?

If Bynum is out for the series, I think it's game, set and match Celtics.

Weakens their starters and in a very tangible way that helps our offense and defense.

And it shreds their bench on the frontline.

I also would like Bynum to play because he deserves it.  The guy has great heart and is one of the only Lakers I respect.

With his knee injury history he definitely needs to watch it. Playing a lot more minutes than normal right before getting on a long flight was probably not a good idea.

I Am sure stranger things have happened, but I will be shocked if Bynum plays Sunday. In his few second half minutes tonight, he absolutely could not move and he was dragging his injured leg up the court. It also appeared in the second half that behind the play he tweaked his knee again, because he kind of stopped, then started slowly jogging again up court. He also looked to be in pain in the second half.

If he does not play it has a huge impact on the texture of this series. And honestly, I don't care if the Celts win with or without Bynum in the lineup.

I really wonder if Bynum is chancing his entire career playing on this bad knee.

Good Point - but I respect all 5 of them. That's why getting Banner 18 against them this time around would be that much sweeter!

LA is truly a better team this time around - but so are we. And when we play Celtics Basketball, we are hard to beat!

Just gotta bring it again 2 more times!

I don't think LA can win without Bynum. LA has been blocking a lot of shots against us. By eliminating Bynum, that will even hurt Gasol's blocks since penetrators only have one tall help defender to worry about.

Lobs to Bynum also hurt us. No one else brings that dimension for LA.

Sadly, Bynum does this every year. He and Odom seem to have the same doctor.

The fact that the Lakers were basically defeated by Glen Davis and Nate Robinson tonight makes clear that not having Bynum for most of the game really hurt them.  Gasol + Bynum is scary, but Gasol by himself isn't nearly as big an interior presence.  Lamar Odom doesn't really provide much interior defense.

From some reporter's twitter account:

Bynum said knee is the worst it has been (swelling-wise; pain is same). About fighting through: "I'm prepared to do it."
about 1 hour ago via UberTwitter

Bynum: "It's a little bit frustrating, but I'm going to play on Sunday, play hard on Sunday."
about 1 hour ago via UberTwitter

Bynum said knee so swollen it was "like a basketball." Getting his personal doctor from NY to come to BOS to examine.

I personally don't need Bynum to be a full strength to feel that winning #18 this year will "legit".  Just look at all the injuries the Celtics are dealing with.  Are we going to use those as excuses if they don't win it all?  Injuries are part of the game.  As already mentioned, the C's bench were the difference in the 4th quarter of Game 4 against the Lakers starters (minus Bynum).

Odom needs a doctor that specializes in injuries above the neck.
