Not only that but BBD is much more effective when Bynum isn't able to use his length against them.

I don't care about Bynum TBH. Sucks for them that he's injury-prone but I want to win and we have enough niggling injury problems of our own. After elbowgate overshadowed the work we put in to win the Cavs series and Lewis pulled the I had a virus card, I really don't care about beating everyone else at full strength anymore. Even when we do it's always something or the other.

Bynum is huge for the Lakers when playing a physical team like the Celtics. He brings that presence in the paint. That interior defense, shot blocking and rebounding. As well as being a useful offensive player.

The Lakers are a weak finesse team that can be taken apart in the paint whenever he is sitting for long periods. That gives Boston an advantage in the backcourt + in the paint which consequently leads to an overwhelming advantage for the C's.

Not to reopen the 08 can of worms, but no Bynum, or an ineffective Bynum, changes a lot.  We suddenly become the longer team, and LA's top bench bigs are now Luke Walton, Josh Powell, and DJ Mbenga. 

I hope LA's at full strength too, but I'm sure not gonna feel bad if they aren't.

I dont give a [dang] about Bynum playing or not. Do you think Fakers thought in 1987. "oh no, if Larry's back were god, if Chiefs ankle were god, if McHale foot weren't broken, if Walton and Wedman weren't injured, if Bias hasn't died...Celtics would sweep us"?
If Bynum's not playing is because hes Sam Bowie 2.0 and not because of bad luck.

At first I wanted Bynum to be full strength because I hate other teams being less than full strength.

However, if it weren't for Garnett hurting his knee last year we'd probably be going for a 3-peat right now.


So quite frankly, screw the Lakers - it's their problem if they have injury-prone players.

Yeh, I'm not so much concerned with any excuses, as much as what the effect it will have on the Lakers.

Seriously, why should we care if Bynum is hurt? I don't recall too many teams holding candlelight vigils for us last year without KG and Powe.

And Bynum being hurt isn't exactly a fluke. Kobe getting hurt is a fluke. Bynum's fragile as a tulip and has been his whole career. I hope he's done for the series.

Again, this is not a thread about letting the Lakers off the hook if Bynum can't go.  What is the effect on the team if he can't go?  How significant of an advantage would it give the Celtics?

Are the Lakers any better equipped to go without him than they were two years ago?
