Can I make a prediction, in Tim Donaughy style, as much as I'd hate to say it, Rajon is going to be in fouls trouble tonight.

lol Rondo too thinks he will be in foul trouble tonight

anyways idk what to say about the officiating anymore......i guess for the C's the best thing is....just come out and play and don't lose your composure

even tho the vid proved that you'll still get hit with a T even if u dont argue with the refs

If I was going to start a competing pro basketball league during the 2011-12 lockout season, I would emphasize good officiating, and promote the fact that the new league's officiating was good.

Stern thinks that officiating doesn't matter, because ALL the little dirtball cares about is the bottom line.  In fact, he has actually turned the officiating loss center into a profit center, because the fines the NBA charges to frustrated players and coaches approximate the cost of the officiating budget.  (Note: this is just a guess. :D)

It'd be hard for an upstart league to compete with the NBA in terms of player talent, but EASY to kick the NBA's butt in terms of the integrity of the games.  Nice job, Little David and lapdog Stu. :P

My biggest worry in this one is Rush. He is just so bad that who knows what will happen. We could set a record for having players tossed on technicals.

So, one on Perk, two on Sheed, and they both sit next game?  :P

well, that's the only way the lakers can take game 5

I think you are all wrong. I think Gasol gets in foul trouble tonight, the refs lay off of Boston and the C's win big, like more than 15.

Oh and then in the closing minutes Eddie F. Rush will T up Perk just to prove a point and then the T will be rescinded by the league.

Do you guys think it would be possible to put together a crew where all three guys were good?  I just don't think there are that many good refs in the NBA, especially if you don't want them working every Finals game.

Officiating is in a sad state.  I think the number of refs who are actively biased is probably pretty small, but the number of officials who are wildly inconsistent / borderline incompetent is way too high.
My thoughts too.

If any of us are delusional enough to think that at least one ref per game isn't going to be a "terrible" one then we need to seek psychiatric help.  The state of NBA officiating is just that sad.

I agree, but I think game 5 they let us play physical too. As I said in my thread, if that does happen it will make me think the league is tinkering to make the series last longer.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

If the Celtics can't hit a freaking jumper and don't get 20+ out of at least 2 of the Big 3, it won't matter who the refs are.

The Celtics just need to play a good game.  Enough nonsense about the refs.

Thank you TP PosImpos.  The refs have been pretty bad this series and seem to be a lot of times, but the C's just need to play well and through it.

I'm sick of hearing about how people believe the NBA is fixed.

Idc about complaining about the refs because they have sucked, but I can't stand hearing how people believe the league is fixed.  If you believe that don't watch.

The refs are human and IMO basketball is the hardest sport to officiate.

Still the officiating does need to better a lot better, but we have to win regardless of it.

The bottom line for me is...who cares if the Celtics end up being the team who could have won if the refs weren't so bad?

Let's all just take our consolation prize home with us this summer - if only the reffing were better blah blah.

Nobody cares about or remembers the team that came in second because of the way the games were called.  Mavs and Kings fans can whine for all eternity but in the end Kobe and D-Wade still got their rings.

If the Lakers can win whether or not the game is called really tight and the Celtics can't, that makes them the better team.

Wonder if it is bad that when you check out all the referee profiles Eddie Rush has Doc Yelling at him. The comments under each ref profile are pretty good..

By the way, I love Bill Kennedy's picture:

I heard somewhere that Rush hates Doc because Doc questioned his sexual orientation.  I may be mistaken though.  Can anybody confirm or deny?

It's not Rush. You're thinking of Bill Kennedy, who, coincidentally officiated Game 3 and was fined last year for a spat with Doc.

The Refs didnt beat us in Game 3. If Ray goes 2-13 instead of 0-13 we win.

Scott Foster, Eddie F. Rush and Greg Willard

Eddie F'ing Rush. What does everyone think about the Refs for tonight? Seems like maybe this is the game Perk gets his 7th tech. The NBA should realize it has a problem when going into a finals game im always very interested in who the referees are. A good referee would never be noticed. Eddie Rush gets noticed.
