I dont know its just a feeling :< we had this one and we gave it up i dont know how hard or how much this team wants a title anymore and i do believe that as much as we know that game 4 is a must win the Lakers also know that its almost a must win because they can pretty much run away with this series.

The big Q is if we do win Game 4 can we actually win game 5 and beat them twice in a row which is a big question mark?

I dont know im starting to question this team's desire to win it all and almost everyone is shifting predictions due to the way the Celtics came out in a home coming game 3 and lost it and at some point were down by 17!!!!!!

But yeah game 3 to me was as important as any game in this series :<

Thoughts?

My thought is that we either clean up the issues with our game on both ends of the floor or we're going to give more games away in this series.

The first half was horrible. Didn't do a single thing well.

Then, we clean it up and play excellent defense for about 18 minutes in the second half - and still can't get a whole lot done on the offensive end. Nobody's making shots, Perkins is missing in action on the offensive end, Rondo's not moving with the basketball, probably because he's scared to death of channeling Shaq at the foul line, Pierce is in foul trouble, etc.

And then, when a couple of stops win the game late in the fourth quarter, we let Fisher get loose repeatedly on a simple, not particularly well executed pick and roll and Ray turns Kobe loose on a couple of dribble-drives.

We can play a lot better. We have played a lot better in the playoffs.

But it's incredibly frustrating to watch this club refuse to do the things it needs to do to win - make the extra pass, get defensive stops, hit the glass.

Will we clean it up? I don't know. The Lakers tried to give us the game last night, and we were not good enough to take it.

I don't think Game Three is anymore important than Game Four or Game Five. It would have been if the Celtics lost both games in LA but they got the split so the importance of Game Three dropped in my eyes and became equal to Game Four and Five.

I still feel good about the Celtics chances of winning the next two games and heading back to LA with a 3-2 series lead.

Hopefully but as you stated it is very frustrating to watch them not do the little things that win them games specially since weve seen them do those things and they know how to do them sometimes it makes me feel as if they refuse to do them and get brain farts or something!

Im just hoping every one gets it going in game 4 cause its about time!

I picked Celtics in six but the first three games make me think I was wrong.

L.A. looks like the better team so far. They look more focused by a pretty decent amount.

After all the talk about how we should forget about the regular season, this team has (yet again) played badly/without urgency for a long stretch and lost a game because of it.

Only it's now the finals. And their opponent is the Lakers, not the Nets.

Maybe, as KG would say, it is what it is. And they are what they are.

Boston takes games 4 and 5.

Chill guys, we'll stomp these Fakers.

LA will take 6, and we'll take 7.  8)

if boston plays defense like the did in the second half and we can get balanced scoring...boston is a better team. this series is going to be about how you show up. boston was more agressive in game 2...they won...la was more agressive and played like it was their game 7 and won...tomorrow night i expect boston plays that way

What you're basically saying is when Boston plays better, they're the better team.

Sure, I guess.

i believe they are. they were the better team in the second half without getting much from PP and nothing from ray.

The Celtics were in this same position after game 3 in the Cavs series.  They had won one in Cleveland and then came home and lost their first game at home.  Down 2-1.  They went on to win the next 3.  I have to admit, in those next 3 games, the officiating was probably the most fair of the whole playoffs.  Going by how horrible the refs have been so far in the Finals, I'm not sure we'll get that in this series.  But the Celtics are capable of winning 3 in a row.

  • BEAT L.A.! Yankees s****!
Sorry guys, I'm just not drinking the green kool aid this morning. I think we are in big trouble if we don't take game 4, and the Lakers may actually close us out in game 5 if the Celtics don't get their game together. I do not feel good about game 4 - call it a bad feeling or still being upset at last nights horrible officiating that cost us the W. I hate the Lakers so much.  :(
I believe in God, Family, and The RED SOX!

just get game 4. really. that is the mission. i think boston will get calls this game...i think it will be the game we see balanced scoring from everyone...too much standing around last night. boston has been a good team that bounces back. i dont think we have seen boston play their best ball yet...and i think LA played last night right around where they can...

good things from last night:

-boston was in the game with 2 minutes to play...despite the fouls, despite ray having a horrid night, despite PP not being able to stay on the court..despite kobe being hot

-KG has figured gasol out. i expect this to be big tomorrow

-boston did better inside on bynum and gasol.

-boston's bench played great

-boston really outplayed the lakers in the second half. i expect that type of effort in game 4

-we have been here before vs cleveland. i do think this game will decide the series...it is a must win for boston but i expect they will get it done

I just want a game where everyone on the team comes to play!

So whose turn is it to be in foul trouble in game 4?

game 1 was Ray
game 2 was KG
game 3 was Pierce
game 4 is probably Rondo's turn I guess  ::)

It's hard to be too confident when the teams are this even.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
