Celtics obviously need to win their next two games in order to have a legitimate shot at winning this series...boo hoo/who?

It is 1984 all over again!

I still think we are very much in the debate. There are details like setting proper screens, boxing out, being agressive on offense that need to be cleaned up. The one person we need to play well is Rajon Rondo - just like we had to rely on Old Larry back in 1984.

Last night was hopefully our last loss of the season. I will invoke my personal good luck charms the rest of the week and be on my way.

I dont know its just a feeling :< we had this one and we gave it up i dont know how hard or how much this team wants a title anymore and i do believe that as much as we know that game 4 is a must win the Lakers also know that its almost a must win because they can pretty much run away with this series.

The big Q is if we do win Game 4 can we actually win game 5 and beat them twice in a row which is a big question mark?

I dont know im starting to question this team's desire to win it all and almost everyone is shifting predictions due to the way the Celtics came out in a home coming game 3 and lost it and at some point were down by 17!!!!!!

But yeah game 3 to me was as important as any game in this series :<

Thoughts?

thoughts ?  i'm sick and depressed right now - that's my thoughts - this is agonizing.

i understand your perspective - don't really disagree.

however, a few things to consider - the Celtics really haven't played a solid game yet in this series. they simply have not played very well. yeah, some of that is due to the Lakers being a different team, anyway, than cleveland and orlando, better, i don't know.

the Lakers defense has been hard for us to get a rythym going against and for some reason, that triangle-offense has made it difficult for us to suffocate this team the way we did throughout the Eastern playoffs series.

our defense has been good, i think, just not great - which it needs to be since that is our real strength and advantage over anyone in this league. our rebounding has been poor and obviously, our offense has struggled badly, other than Ray Ray just going unconcious in game 2.

i have no doubt the Celts have the ability to beat this Lakers team ......... but i am also concerned that having to beat the two best regular season teams in the East bracket has sapped some energy from our emotional, physical and mental tank - we just have not been sharp and that is a sign of a tired team. also, i think the Lakers are less beaten up coming out of the west and they are super-motivated to get revenge for '08 - despite Bryant's ridiculous lie that the Celts-Laker rivalry means nothing to him. he's such a phony.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce
