Am I the only one who cringed when Pierce went into an ISO play?

Man, I'm glad that half is over.  Thank goodness we aren't down 20.  Looking forward to a better second half.

Kobe Bryant has hit a couple of tough shots over the past few minutes. The Lakers haven't gotten much else going offensively outside of hustle plays + defensive breakdowns for several minutes now. They're struggling offensively and they are very close to going on a scoring drought.

Pierce, needs to shut the heck up after games and play basketball. He has been terrible.

If Kobe hogs it all game like this it'll definitely break the synchrony of their offense.

Pierce and Ray can only shoot better in the 2nd half.  The bench will have to do something, and contain Odom when he's in there.

There's definitely hope.

Doris Burke... what a question.

"Kobe Bryant, why are you so actively involved with what's going on?"

He's Kobe Bryant... does he normally sit on the bench?

Well, if that last shot didn't say it all...half-way down and roll out. Just shot the ball horribly. Came out strong and went cold for the rest of the half.

I don't think we should be too negative about things, we missed a ton of good looks. They are shots that should have fallen but a lot of them were not bad shots. Sometimes they roll that way.

The D started strong, went south and then came back. Lakers hit a few tough shots (Luke Walton turn-around from 17-feet anyone?), got bailed out by calls a few times. What can you do.Need to come out strong in the 2nd half, tighten the D, hit open shots, push the ball in transition, get easy baskets.

And just a note: One can complain about calls and not think that is the reason The Celtics are losing. To go to the extreme and claim that is the reason is overdoing it. As is saying they have no effect on the game (and jeez, pet peeve but it is with an e). Like most things in life, the extreme, black or white opinion either way is usually not the whole story, rather it the murky gray says a bit more.

Despite all the problems, the difference in this game is rim-outs for us and lucky bounces for LA.  Take those away and this game is tied, despite the fact that Ray and Paul are missing wide open shots.

Don't expect that to continue in the second half.

Man can we finally have a game where all the guys show up?

KG finally shows up tonight (very happy for him)...only for Allen and Pierce to practically go into an offensive drought.

Pierce and Allen really need to wake up in the 2nd half and start knocking down their shots.

Horrible 1st half...hoping for some intense Celtics basketball in the 2nd half

let's go celtics !!

No kidding. He's a paper tiger right now. Is this the worst offensive playoff series of his career?

Ray hasn't been much better tonight.

But for KG and Rondo, this would be a 20-point game.

Really worried that Paul and Ray won't bring it in the second half. And we pretty much have to have this game if we want any realistic shot at winning this series.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
Pierce has been getting good shots, they've just been rimming out. Same with Ray. They have to take those shots and live with the results (which will rarely continue like this).
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

A whole new half coming up. Boston can still get this. Look at the bricks we threw up in this half. Being down 12 is rough and it won't be easy, but this is still a game we can get. Defense. Defense. Defense.
