No. C'mon! If this team wins you bring them back no matter what. Even at this point, you have to bring the team back and give them another chance.
Who knows, KG might not be fully recovered yet,Rondo is getting better, and perk, give them a chance to defend the title.
You don't blow up a team that won the title. That's just flat out STUPID.
Look at what Orlando did, made it too the final, thought they made moves that would have put them over the top, and it failed. You don't blow up a good thing.
This starting 5 has still never lost a playoff series you dont throw that away. They've proved they still got it.
That's how we got into the mess with the 90s when we refused to trade McHale. I would love to keep this squad together until they die, but we always knew there was a 3 year window. Unfortunately its about selling high. As far as I'm concerned only Rondo is untouchable, Perkins is touchable (but it would have to be a great deal)
Let's say we trade McHale. What's the net result? Do we win more titles? I don't think so. That being the case, what would the point have been in breaking up the Big Three earlier?
People are in such a rush to rebuild, when the result of rebuilding only have, what, a 10% chance of getting a team to championship contention? I mean, if rebuilding had even an above-average chance of working out, you'd think you would see results of that somewhere.
Since rebuilding will likely fail, why not see how long the window actually stays open for, rather than putting artificial boundaries on it like three years. It's looking very possible that our primary competition in the East -- Orlando, Atlanta, and maybe Cleveland -- could all be weakened next season. Why not explore the opportunity of bringing the team back and seeing how far they can get next year, then?
