I'm not so sure Gilbert is much of an upgrade over Mo Williams though.

Plus the Cavs would have perhaps the worst defensive front court in the league if you removed LeBron, that's not a champisonship caliber team.

Ray Allen still isn't a great defender, merely adequete most of the time.
Make no mistake, Gilbert Arenas is significantly better than Mo "Disappearing Act" Williams. And no, he isn't a great defender. But there is no reason why he won't be "merely adequate" in Cleveland.

Why would he be magically better defender in Cleveland? Especially when put infront of an awful defensive PF/C.

I mean he already played in front of Blatch/Jamison before and was awful then. Will LeBron rub off magic pixie dust to make him something other than a defensive liability.

Besaide Gilbert played worse than Mo Williams the past three season.

What about when he was healthy, Gilbert "Choking because Lebron said something to him before his foul shots" Arenas?

Now, he is the less then 100%, selfish gun toting albatross contract player.

No way the Cavs want him.  (then again, they do like the over payed almost a 2nd star player)

If true, that's a horrible deal for Sacto.

So - is CLE making (or proposing) these deals in an attempt to get Lebron back?

Lord I hope not - no one man should have that much pull over an organization. What if Lebron bolts? Then what? No Ferry, Mike Brown, Mo Williams or Delonte....who's next to go?

I must give credit to the Los Angeles Lakers - at least they actively shopped Kobe Bryant during his trade demands, just before they traded Shaquille O'Neal a few yrs later....they couldn't find any suitable deals for kobe, but at least they tried.

That is the way it is supposed to be - You a Superstar and unhappy? Well let's see who we can acquire for your services......

Since when was that team ran well?

They just lucked into Lebron

But hey, it could be an interesting team to watch built around sideshow.    ;D
