On a different note. Did anyone else hear TA use the N word going into the timeout late in the game?! He said My "N" to Rondo I believe. Didn't love explaining that to my 11 year old son. These guys need to be smarter than that on TV.

Sorry you had to explain to your son under the circumstances (I understand, my son is 8), but that's so common where we live that we just laughed -- it's a pretty tired cliche.

Yeah, we caught that one here, too.  I'm blame that on the network for not having the game on a delay.

Thats on TV man, not on TA or anyone. Can't expect guys to not talk on the court. These guys aren't on TV, they're on the court. TV has to deal with that, not the players. Sorry for your parental dilemma though ;)

Loving Magic giving Rondo tons of props on espnnews postgame. He is loving him some Rondo right now, and love to hear a great PG, even if he is a Laker, showing love to Rondo.

Wilbon: "If we could get these guys to stop blowing whistles it would be something."

Here's a scary stat from them inside:

Bynum 7 blocks
Gasol 6 blocks

That is quite the performance from those two. (especially since they also dropped 46 pts as well) We need to find a way to do a better job inside to keep winning games. As nice as this win was, if we didn't get a real hot Ray in the first half we might have not won that one.

Its funny that they think that, because it epitomizes how stupid and entitled they are.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Rondo also dropped a big 'S' bomb right after he missed that first free throw.  Someone tried to mute it out but failed horribly.  Maybe the network officials and game officials got together and had a few drinks before the game!    :P

This one takes the cake. This game was called so in their favour it wasn't even funny. Good for a laugh though. Interesting stat, Kobe hasn't fouled out of a play-off game since 2002. Remarkable accomplishment when you consider the number of play-off games he's played since then.

Gasol + Bynum = 46 points on 13/20 shooting + 20/25 FTs = TS% of 74%

Rest of Lakers = 16/51 shooting + 11/16 FTs for 48 points = TS% of 41.4%

Bynum and Gasol had their way offensively but the defense on Kobe Bryant and the rest of the Lakers supporting cast was outstanding.

----------------------------------------

As good as those two were offensively, I thought Gasol's + Bynum's soft rebounding lost them the game. Only 14 boards in a combined 81 minutes. That allowed the Celtics to win the rebounding battle and get those few extra possessions that put them over the top. As an aside, Sheed and Baby matched Gasol's + Bynun's 14 boards in only 36 combined minutes. Excellent board work by the backup big men in green.

Answer: because you ALWAYS get the benefit of almost every call, every game, ever.

by the way, Phil Jackson is criticizing the refs in his press conference. Pathetic. Please Phil, I hope your stupid little ploys actually do get to the refs -- a looser whistle will be GREAT for the Celtics.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
Phil complaining incessantly about the refs in the postgame. Unreal, this guy.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

The big difference between Kobe and PP is that if PP can't get it going, he'll still work for his teammates (mostly Ray in this game) and will play good defense. He won't damage his team.

Ugly game in places a lot of easy misses by the C's and bad calls by the refs. D won it for them. Thought Shelden actually played well until those two unbelievably bad plays at the end of the half. He was able to to contest a lot of shots and get rebounds where KG seems to be really lacking any lift or mobility. Is going to interesting to see what Doc does if KG does not start playing better.

Number of really bad offensive sequences by the C's hope they can break that down on film and get back into their sets, otherwise fast break, transition points, and three
s from Ray were all she wrote.
