Great game by the Celtics. Ray Allen took it to Kobe tonight and proved once again that he is a more efficient scorer.

Kobe Bryant has scored 81 points in a single game before, however we all know that Ray Allen is better at converting shots from range and he also shoots a better % once he gets to the line.

Unfortunately for Kobe there are 82 games in a season (not 81) and the Boston Celtics just so happen to be the Lake-Show's 'arch-rivals'.

Kudos to the Celtics for giving the Lakers their first home loss of the post-season. I'm sure our guys will be much more comfortable playing these next three games at the Garden.  ;)

On a different note. Did anyone else hear TA use the N word going into the timeout late in the game?! He said My "N" to Rondo I believe. Didn't love explaining that to my 11 year old son. These guys need to be smarter than that on TV.

Yeah, we caught that one here, too.  I'm blame that on the network for not having the game on a delay.

Rondo also dropped a big 'S' bomb right after he missed that first free throw.  Someone tried to mute it out but failed horribly.  Maybe the network officials and game officials got together and had a few drinks before the game!    :P

Actually, they may have muted Rondo effectively.  What I think you heard was me yelling the S-word down in Atlanta.

Marvelous...Simply Marvelous ;D.

All I can say is - Ray! And a great Team Effort!

Big Win, C's!!

Spoke to my mom after the game - she asked me who won? I told her - The Celtics!!!

She said and I quote: "Well, they're gonna be alright, then!"

Can't argue with Mom.

Agree on the bad calls. Couple at the end killed the Lakers. But given the last game I think we are even.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

They have nothing to complain about. They were at the FT much more and were allowed to be more physical at the paint.

I don't think people understand how good of a shooter Ray is.
I perused the comments on the laker blog and they were like Ray can't shoot like that all the time, and a lot of comments suggesting this were some kind of fluke, and Kobe could do that too if he got hot...no not so much. Kobe is a great athlete and overall scorer (he has this over Ray) but Ray is an amazing shooter while Kobe can shoot and there's a difference.  Fact is most of these shots he hits he's not wide open and if he were wide open yes he could hit like this, uncontested threes are [dang] near free throws for him.  Great example at the end of the game when Rondo got fouled as he passed it back to Ray. Ray let the jumper fly anyway (nobody tried to stop it because obviously the play was dead) and he hit all net and he was well beyond 30 feet out probably half way between the three line and half court. The best thing you can do with Ray is to not let him get going because if he gets going that can happen.

Kobe being his typical condescending, sulky, smug self at the podium.

He also just threatened the refs.

"I don't expect to pick up 5 fouls next game"

He is honestly such ****.

Giving 1 line answers to questions and acting like they're the most obvious stupid questions ever. His expression is so sulky. He needs to get punched.

Did anyone notice how soft the rims seemed tonight (on both ends).  There were a bunch of bricks that ended up going on for both teams.
Yup

While I might have chosen different words, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment.  You are too right.

I hate to compliment the opponent, especially when we won, but........

I want to handcuff Kendrick Perkins to a chair, tape his eyes open, and force him to watch tape for at least a 24 hour period, of how Andrew Bynum handles the ball.  He catches it high up in the air, leaves it high up in the air, and not only does it never go below his shoulders, it never gets within a foot of even being near his head.

Perk could be a much more effective player on offense if he could just adopt that, but then again, all of us Celtic fans have been saying this about Perk FOREVER!!!!

Good Point.

The odd thing about Perk is that he was in fact doing this at the start of the season - keeping the ball high.

He didn't play a bad game, but he needs to get back to doing what he did several months ago.

He's only 25? I guess bad habits are hard to break.
