I think the writer is kind've trying to make a "mountain of a mole hill" here.  Lots of speculation and not too much substance.

I'm sure the labor uncertainty has something to do with it but I'd be absolutely stunned & shocked if Brady isn't resigned.

Brady will be there at training camp.  OTAs are one thing these days and he is a family man now but he'll be there once the mandatory practices commence.

Since Brady may have reached the point where he prefers being a celebrity to a football player. Perhaps he decides to retire on the young side?
