Pau Gasol says Lakers want it more than Celtics

Honestly, what exactly do we expect him to say? That the Celtics have more heart and desire to win the championship and that the Lakers are just honored to be on the same court as the Celtics?

He doesn't have to qualify it as "wanting it more". He can simply say the Lakers want it very badly or something along those lines. He doesn't have to start assuming how much the Celtics want it, it is of no concern of his and seriously, what the heck does he know?

Well, as Ole Larry once said after the 1985 loss to the Lakers (boy that was a lousy day) "The Lakers played better". That was his response to the question, did the Lakers want it more.

Both teams want it badly. Both teams understand that the NBA will go through major changes that will not favor either team (But I think it will hurt Boston much worse).

It comes down to execution and playing with force.

We'll see about that Pau. If KG/Perk/Rasheed/BBD body him up and make him relatively ineffective, we will win this series. Not easily, because the Lakers are still a good team, but i've always felt as though the key to beating them was stopping Gasol and not Bryant. I wonder if the coaching staff feels the same way.

I'm not over-analyzing anything. He made comments that directly question the Celtic's desire to win. I'm going to attack that.

This is an ok statement for him to make.

Speaking of Gasol does this go along with the idea that he is now tougher than he was in 2008. I hear almost every analyst saying this. In my opinion people rarely change their demeanor. I've always thought Gasol is soft. Is it because he won a title that he is now considered tough? I think if the C's get physical with him the C's will get in foul trouble because Gasol is an over-actor in the post. I think his new found title as a tough guy will help him draw fouls in his usual soft manner and hurt the C's.

While the anecdote may be amusing, liking the opera does not make you soft. Nor does having refined tastes and sensibilities. What earned Gasol the "soft" label is playing like a ninny on the court.
