Eh...crappy game. Sloppy D. Bad rebounding. I don't see this continuing. We beat ourselves as much as The Lakers beat us. Granted, they played well, but when we play well it negates the things they did well tonight. We need to get rebounds and up the defensive intensity.

Oh well, on to game 2. If we get a split that is all anyone would ask for. I believe we can get game 2. This is a long series. One game doesn't negate the last month of C's play. Had a long layoff. These things happen; it isn't like The Lakers are chopped liver. We have to up the intensity, D up, grab rebounds...I'm looking up.

Giving out TP's for all here now, even those I disagree with, cause TP's go to all Celtics fans. Not just after wins. TP's are about looking forward to taking game 2 and showing what this team can do.

Tough Loss, but I'm still confident going into game 2.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Pierce is the only one who came to play tonight.

Even Paul looked pretty bad for three quarters.

Without Ray, our entire offense was lost tonight.  That doesn't, however, excuse the terrible defensive effort.

Yeah, KoEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline., that was a classy shot in the end.

I hope the Celtics regroup, and really want to win on Sunday. If they want to, they can play great. Not tonight, and terrible officiated game leading to foul trouble isn't enough to loose like this.

The Lakers wanted it more, and they hustled, rebounded. Their shots went in, the Celtics shots didn't. It doesn't happen usually, but it did tonight.

0-1, like in the Cleveland series. Play tougher next time and it will be a split. Go Celtics!!!

Word.  I am sure we can play a lot better.  Hope Garnett gets it together.

  • KG is da Man
Man, I'm such a big KG fan, I came to celtics with him. I have to say, he was such a disappointment tonight, missed shots, passive offence, bad passing, passive on the glass. Man, KG himself could've been a difference maker between winning and losing that game.
Although the whole team played pretty bad, KG (as much as I hate to point fingers) should carry most of the blame.
Anything is possible!!!

FUDGE!!!!!!!!! I just woke up and had the best dream but hated to see it to be a dream. I only was able to see the last 2 minutes in my dream but we bet LA 100 - 80.

I'm mad about that...well...because I woke up!!

I forgot that dreams are always backwards in meaning..... :(

wow kg played really terrible. injured or not, we have no chance of winning if he plays like that. you guys must think that sheed a stupid thing with the tech, but honestly, at least he's showing some intensity.

imho perk didnt play well. i though sheed did a better job defensively and offensively, and i wondered why it took doc to take perk out of the game.

paul showed up, just a couple of wide open misses but he fought till the end.

refs showed up, way to go give a 5th foul to ray for breathing the same air as kobe.

the lakers outhustled us, and rightfully, all the lucky bounces went their way. come on guys, i know you can do better than that.

now take game 2 pls.

Nate and Sheed both showed some nice intensity - and Sheed looked really good physically. I think maybe we were too relaxed. No real sense of urgency during this game for the most part. By the time Paul showed up, it was too late.

We aren't going to win with Allen playing like a girl. Jesus. He hit 2 wide open shots, everything else was him flopping and the refs feeling bad for him.

KG clearly showing fatigue. Can't make an uncontested layup.

Can't rebound. Not even close. We were getting away with so many loose ball fouls at the end. What a joke.

Kobe and Pau are in their prime. Absolutely killing it out there. This is going to be a tough series if all we can do is flop and hope the refs bail us out.

2 biggest things about the game:

1. Hate the officiating on BOTH sides. Stop calling these stupid contact fouls in the post annoys me to no end. Celtics lost all of the remaining flow to their offense when ray was out for the majority of the game(think he played something like 12 minutes in the first 3 quarters) on touchy and questionable calls.

Again goes both ways, the ridiculous calls on fisher and others, most notibly the call on fisher when defending ray on the perimeter where no contact was made...

2. I think we can all agree that the celtics had their worst game of the postseason. The fact it was within 10 the entire first half + about half of the 2nd half is a positive in my mind.
The lakers played very good interior defense but 1-11 from 3 is a terrible shooting night no matter how you slice it.

Still have no idea why we had no sense of urgency, and why KG went soft, but I still like Celtics in 7.
