Hmmm...they couldn't of started playing this way like 10 minutes ago? (or the start of the game) Might be too late now.

I see we're back to the regular season CelticsBlog game threads, too! :)

Seven game series, folks, and this team hasn't quit.

Nice little run here.

TP. Sometimes the abject negativity means I step away for awhile because it just kills the enjoyment of watching The C's in the playoffs. Plenty of time left.

The Lakers have a 34 to 22 advantage on the backboards.

Rondo and Pierce have half (11) of the Celtics total number of rebounds.

The rebounding has been very poor tonight.

at least i can go to bed early. lousy performance. the only consolation i can come up with - and it isnt much - is that in 2008, the laker also won their first game at home. Granted, it was game 3 after losing the first 2 in boston...

the refs were terrible for both teams tonight - this wasnt corruption, this was flat out incompetence. speaking of incompetence - the celtics defense springs to mind.

game 2 is huge. i am trying to believe what i saw tonight is not what i will see sunday...but it is not easy to convince myself.

Celtics finally starting to get some flow offensively - and Lakers finally letting down on D a bit. Key from here on out is get back in sync heading to Game 2.  And you never know....maybe a Laker collapse might be in cards if planets are aligned properly....

1 rebound in 26 minutes -- Garnett

3 rebounds in 24 minutes -- Perk
0 rebounds in 14 minutes -- Tony
0 rebounds in 15 minutes -- Ray

1 rebound in 14 minutes -- Nate
2 rebounds in 11 minutes -- BBD

Sheed has four boards in 14 minutes which is very good.

Jeez. The game isn't over. PLenty of time left. Don't let one game change the last month. And the lakers aren't a bunch of scrubs. gosh.

Aww, we needed that.

It's interesting that Doc is sticking with Nate.

IMO the reffing was equally terrible for both teams UP UNTIL the point where we cut it to 9 for a few possessions in the 3rd quarter and then they started tipping towards LA.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
Gah. Needed the three or the dunk there.

We've had so many of those momentum shots not go our way.

I guarantee Perk or Sheed would have got a Tech for what Lamar just did.

Now, let me ask you this:  how come Odom can take the ball and run all the way to half-court while complaining, but if Rasheed opens his mouth it's a T?

Can't believe Stern is happy with how this game's been called.

No doubt whatsoever the Lakers have been the best team but wow - awful game for the viewer.
