TP.It's been a team problem for Cleveland though. It was probably just a matter of time. They probably would have surfaced with the Celtics too if he was still on the team. Why can't some people let it go? I doubt Danny would risk dealing with all Delonte's problems anyway, as he's not good enough to put up with it. I think Nate Robinson is a better player anyway and he is already on the team. I'd rather re-sign Nate and then Tony for defense on the elite wings.

The C's would be in position to make a judgment about his problems since they know him already. If DA had no problem trying him again, neither would I. His production was about career average, and he played great D on shooting guards. If I had to chose between Nate, Delonte, and TA for the first guard off the bench, I'd take Delonte. (Edgar - I'll take that TP now - I know you cannot resist TP'ing a pro Delonte comment!)Then I'd seek out a forward that can play the SF/PF spots in the draft and is athletic enough to D up Lebron. If that player cannot be had, I seek him through the MLE or a trade. For example if we could trade BBD or Perk for a very good combo forward - I'd consider it. The team needs a true SF off the bench, preferably one that can let the team force some favorable mismatches by playing PF in a small ball lineup - or letting Pierce play SG for brief stretches (where he could abuse people on the block.)
Would Randy Foye be a better option than Delonte, TA, or Nate? He's a RFA, so there'd have to be some dealin' done, but I think he's probably better than either Delonte or TA, and can play the 2 to get minutes next to Rondo, where Nate really can't.
With only $500K guaranteed of $4.6 million, his trade value is to a team looking to dump salary. IF they find a taker, they'll likely be looking to get a talented role player (as he is) who may be overpaid, but look to get a pick as well. Then Delonte gets cut by Aug 5th and becomes an unrestricted FA, but not until Aug. 5th, when the FA market should hopefully have sorted itself out.Meaning...Delonte could be one of those players that becomes available for very cheap money. This is bad news for TA, of course, as not only is Marquis Daniels looking at his spot, but Delonte will be available for close to the same money as well (2-3 million), maybe even less.Comparing TA and Delonte, I think Delonte's superior in ball handling, decision making, and far better in shooting, as well as better with the ball in the clutch. They're nearly the same height, and both have a history of injury, though TA's history includes major injuries, and Delonte seems to have little things nag him throughout the season, missing games here and there due to back spasms, etc. I don't think TA is THAT much better on the defensive end than Delonte, though I give the nod to TA. All in all, I think Delonte is a better player, and represents the sort of role-player talent we could pick up for 1/2 the MLE if Danny is patient this summer.
Dont like it. Dont like him.
