  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our [Celtics] dead.
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O'erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest [Celtics].
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Alexanders,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought
And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
Whose limbs were made in [Celtic Nation], show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for [Red, Celtics Nation, and Basketball Jesus!]'

I still believe.

Most people believed that the series would go 7. We are right where we want to be a game away from a championship.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

This team has been left for dead so many times this regular season and postseason and has always responded by shutting everyone up.  Let's do it one more time.

While that beating we took last night hurts, this team has shown the ability to bounce back all playoffs, after losing game 4 in miami, getting trounced by cleveland in game 3, losing two in a row orlando, and winning games 2 and 4 of this series.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Cheerleading doesn't win games, and it doesn't keep Dwight Howard away from the rim.

Sorry if you find that offensive.

No I don't find it offensive just not appropriate for this thread.

FYI nothing we say or do will impact Howard or the C's.  So a few positive thoughts don't need to be knocked down by your reality...
Since when is gray fog considered "reality"?  All it does is cloud the vision.

i cant believe for 1 second you'd try and compare Miami, Cleveland, And Olrando to the Lakers.  Not even close-- LA has the best player, best coach, and best big man in the game now--- and their at home so kobe gets all the calls. Last night's effort is exactly why i cant see this team winning on thurs, truley embrassing to this person who has watched Celtics basketball for 30 years.  You only wish there was a Vince carter or MO williams on the lakers not a 4 time champ like kobe.  Hate him all u want , and I do, but he wont let his team lose, while we have a starting point guard who shoot 20% from the foul line.  And yes i'm very angry right now

Kobe has let his team lose plenty of times before, including in 2004 and 2008 in the Finals.  The guy isn't invincible.

Amen. Believing doesn't calm the nerves. At all.

It was exactly two years ago on June 17th when we raised banner 17. And we are going to do it again tomorrow, except this time it is banner 18 :)

Obviously those teams werent as good as the lakers, the point is that the celtics have been in must win games before in these playoffs and they seem to perform, especially when it looks incredibly grim.  Tell me you dont see a parallel between Cleveland game three and last night against the lakers...

We'll bounce back. I believe it. Winning ugly in the toughest and most memorable way possible is just how we roll.
