How does a dirty basketball play make him a criminal? Has Dwight Howard ever had dogs fight each other, brought guns into a locker room (which was played out too much), beat his wife or raped anyone? Drunk driving? He's not a bad guy, but he is a dirty player. Just because he throws a few elbows doesn't make him a "thug or criminal".

Puuuleeeese. We are angry - our players are hurt - he is most certainly a thug. Who cares if he hasn't beat his wife, (that we know of). Who knows if he is a criminal and who cares? It's an expression of anger.

I remember back in the day Dikembe Mutumbo had the same issue with his elbows - eventually, he starting getting T'd up for it, until he stopped.

I love Dwight Howard - he's a decent young man and an up-and-coming great player. But he has got to realize that he can do better with his elbows.

Dwight Howard is not criminal, he's become reckless.  And he's become reckless because he has been allowed to.  Dead on, GF1819.

TP... that's exactly it.  He does it because he is allowed to get away with it.  If the refs would do their jobs instead of trying to control the outcome of games, and would start calling the elbows as flagrant fouls then those elbows would no longer be thrown quite as freely.

The Celtics just can't get away from elbows this post season. First it was LeBron's elbow and now it's Dwight's.  Dwight's are causing injuries instead of being an injury.  ironic.
