I agree on that House call. KG kept walking backwards and Barnes kept after him and put his hands into KG's chect frou separate times with KG knocking them away four times.

I understand you do it once, but once the guy is wlaking away, which KG was, you're done. You don't keep pursuing the guy. It was clearly antagonistic. barnes should have been T'd up, that wouldn have been enough for me. That nothing was called, wasn't right. Howard also should have received a t for clapping, yealling and glaring at KG. According to the league that would be taunting.
Im not trying to turn this into a crybaby team situation, because they lost but always seems the league is quick to penalize the Celtics players(justified90%),but i expect to see the same when they are on the opposite end of things.Fair is fair but its not always the case in the NBA.There was a few other hard fouls that Howard made,if the shoe was on the other foot,i wonder if our player would be looking to play in game#5.

I believe the elbows are intentional and dirty, but good luck proving it.  Almost always, the NBA declines to suspend somebody for elbows thrown during the course of play.

If the NBA could prove the elbow was deliberate, it's an automatic ejection (or, if there's no ejection, then it's an automatic suspension).  However, since there's a chance it was accidental, the league won't do anything.

Of course he won't be suspended, but he's a dirty player IMO.
And if you think those elbows to the head are "inadvertent", I think not. Nothing inadvertent about holding your elbows at shoulder height and just swinging them wildly. He knows when there is someone nearby.
At least two, maybe three, cheap shots in last night's game. I guess if you're devoutly "religious" and smile all the time you can get away with things that would get Rasheed or KG a suspension >:(
I'm getting to dislike Howard almost as much as Derek Fisher, another cheap shot artist.

Its not like Dwight hasn't established a pattern of giving elbows to players...remember the Philly/Magic series last yr.Wasn't he suspended for a game in that series? Its not like its a new thing to him,and could give him the benefit of the doubt here. His intent was malicious. Howard should be viewed by the league as a repeat offender, therefore he not only should be suspended for 1 game but fined as well because evidently he didn't learn a lesson the first time around.

Anytime you think the league is against your players, that is when you know that it is actually your perceptions that are the problem.

He keeps doing it because he gets way with it so many times during games without being punished.

Even this:

was only a technical during the game (he was suspended for one game later).

If I were commish he'd get a fine. But I'm not and he won't.

I have been on the courts for 25 plus years, and I can tell you that the glazing hit across KG's face was intentional, as was the hard swing of the elbo after the rebound.
All I can say is if he were to hit me with an elbo like that, I would still be kicking his ___!

Someday, one of his elbows will anger Perk too much, and you don't want to see Perk when he's really angry.

I wouldn't want to lose Perk for any extended period of time, but I'd really, really love to see Shaq put Dwight in his place.

Could not have said it better Dmopower and kenmaine, TP to both. The exact point is that Howard's elbows are not inadvertant at all. These guys are premeier athletes, they have very good control of their bodies and they genrally know where their limbs are at all times. Also, they usually know exactly where the opponent is. It's called hand-eye coordination and that athletic skill doesn't apply to just your hand, it's your whole body.

Besides that basic athletic fact, as I've argued before, if you've watched or played basketball long enough, it is so incredibly easy to tell when a play is just a good hard clean smash mouth baketball vs. when it's an intentional shot or a dirty play. It's like looking at a dog and a cat and then being asked which one is the dog and which is the cat. It's very simple.

Perkins has made plays in his career that he should clearly be suspended for. And other hard fouls he shouldn't be suspended for.

And it has nothing to do with thinking the league is against our team.

I think a pretty good guage is if my Laker friends here in LA, who absolutely despise the Celts, are admitting we are getting hosed on some of these plays and calls. Are suprised at the "non calls".

I disagree, while I believe Howard does stuff like that on purpose I don't think it warrants a suspension in it's context. It's just not clear enough IMO.

We sound like crybaby fans when we start looking for the other team's best player to be suspended. Inadvertant elbows were what I saw. Now, the Barnes' push on KG the other night should have warranted at least a flagrant 1 if not 2.

Agreed and agreed.

No we don't we sound like fans who want other teams to be treated with the same rules as other teams in the league.

Kg was suspended for an inadvertent elbow which made contact. So did Dwight, so why don't we get the same rub of the green?
