He's restricted free agent if I recall correctly. We might go for him.
I don't see why not but he really is a younger eddie house, no?
Good shooter who isn't the best ball handler, hustles on d, undersized sg, can't create his own shot more of a shooter off catch.

If Eddie House was 6'4", ripped and played bull-dog defense then yes, he is like a young Eddie House.

On this team, as a complimentary scorer and hard nosed defender, JJ would be a great fit as Ray's long term backup/replacement. Depending on other moves, I would be happy to sign him for 5 years and $25 million.
"Bull dog defense" and "hard nosed defender" ... really?

Yeah ... that stumped me, too, Who ... guess I haven't been watching closely enough. The guy has a great shooting stroke, and is learning to handle the ball well, but I just can't sing the praises of his defensive abilities, (if they exist), and I'm not too sure I'd want him in green.

I'd definitely like him here.  Why?

1) He's an amazing shooter;

2) He plays hard and hustles constantly;

3) He's a hard worker who has improved his game tremendously;

4) He has no fear.

I'd gladly sign a guy who plays hard, smart and can shoot.

I love the guy's work ethic and hustle, and he has an amazing shooting stroke, I just haven't decided if I would want to take the trade-off for his lack of defensive skills and ball-handling. I just think at this point we could do better, but I might be persuaded if he keeps improving at the rate he has been.

How do we get him though.  He's restricted and Orlando would most likely match.

Probably because he is from Duke, I never liked JJ, but after seeing him in the playoffs my impression of him has improved.  I think he is a good defender on Ray because JJ's offense would probably be running around all of those screens too.  A backup back court of Tony and JJ would be solid.

I'm not sure what value the Magic would place on him, though.  He didn't play for the first few years in the NBA, but they would not trade him either.

Routing for him to fail so bad. Can't stand J.J. Reddick.

Me neither. I took immense perverse pleasure in his slip-up at the end of Game 2 to undo all the good work he did. Too bad he didn't do the same last night. But I'll begrudgingly give him credit he's been their most consistent player this series.

Yeah, we'd probably have to overpay for him.  I can't see us signing him this off-season, although I'd love to see it work out.  My guess is that he'll play for his qualifying offer this year, and then sign elsewhere next off-season.

I'm a JJ fan - I think he puts in a lot of work and effort. I can respect that.

Wouldn't mind seeing him in Green... wouldn't mind it at all.

He will be an FA this summer - albeit restricted - so you never know.

This is another thing that has led me to like him more than his Duke days.  He obviously has always been talented, but it is clear that he has put in work to become a better NBA player.  Compare that to Adam Morrison's career path.

Let me ask you this, if I offered you the following player for our bench, would you take him?

6'4" PG/SG.  Amazing shooter, has a tendency to come through in the clutch.  Hard worker who constantly is improving his game.  Average ball-handler and defender, but has made strides in those areas.  More of a SG than a PG in terms of passing.  Struggles defending bigger players, especially small forwards.

I think that's a fair description of JJ.  I think there's always room on your roster for a guy like that.

Interesting; I figured you would be a fan.  He's basically the same player as Delonte West, with a slightly lesser stroke and inferior defense.  His hustle, etc., are the same, though.

(I just saw your other thread; sorry you can't respond to this until after Game 5.)
