I just don't want this team to get any more young question marks. Love and Jefferson are both soft offensive players. I want veterans. Guys who may not be superstars but can play both ends. Not to sound all Bill Belichick, but Basketball players need to be on this team who offer more value in terms of all the things they can bring to the team. Please, no more young projects right now. Too many years of sitting on our hands watching and hoping that one or two of them pan out. The problem is, they usually do, just after we trade them to other teams...

I've made my final decision on the Minny pick.  All along I've said take Wesley Johnson.  Who wouldn't want a Sean Marion type player with a great personality, a locker room booster, etc, etc...

It's not worth taking Cousins, I said to myself......who wants the job of maturing this guy or waiting for him to mature.....too tiresome I thought....

Then I decided they can't turn down Cousin's size.....they just can't....then I decided to replace his size with the size (smaller) of Greg Monroe.

So there you have it.  Minny should take Greg Monroe and trade Al Jefferson for a super wing...
Monroe and Love would be a good combo....two good passers.....

So, it's necessary to compare Monroe to Wesley Johnson, to make sure Minny's not going to lose out.  Well, Johnson is 23 and Monroe is 20.   Surely Monroe can be as valuable as Johnson will be (I do thing Johnson will be a great asset) over the long haul......

Monroe compared to Cousins?  It's a risk to pass on Cousins, but less possible headache....

(don't want to criticize Cousins too much.....just saying he comes across real young...)

Okay Minny there you go.  Enjoy Monroe.

Thank you very much.

The end...

I think we need Perk's defense more than we need the #4 pick, even if Minnesota would do that trade.

I think whoever is taken at #4 will probably be more talented than Perk, but he won't be as proven or as good a fit on our defensive front line.

It's a smart move if you're looking to rebuild.  If possible, though, I'd like to see us try to extend our window another year or two, rebuilding be [danged].

I understand where you're coming from, but if we had the chance to add the player that can both extend our window and be a great piece for the future, would you trade Perk for him?  I would, and here's why.

Perk is a role player whose value, like Glen Davis' last year and maybe Tony Allen's this year, will never be higher.  You also have to look at these players and decide if they will be a future allstar/starter or just a role player on a championship squad.  To me, we can replace Perk with Jermaine O'Neal for a year or two while we bring Greg Monroe off the bench for the first couple of years.

I also think that Perk is enticing to a team like the Pistons who are looking for toughness, according to Dumars, at a reasonable price.  It's no secret that Joe D. liked Glen Davis last year and would probably love to acquire Perk, who fits the mold of the traditional big man for the Pistons, while at the same time helping out their cap situation because they're not in a good spot right now and probably need to cut costs.

Now, would Joe trade the 5th pick to us? - probably not, but I would still look into it if I were Ainge (what do you have to lose?).

Bottom line - we should buy as many picks as possible and get as much talent as possible.  See if Memphis is willing to part with any and all of their draft picks (I believe they are).  I mean, if we traded for the 5th pick and then bought Atlanta's pick, Minnesota's picks (16 and 23), and/or Memphis' 25th pick, we could possibly come out of the draft with Monroe, Babbitt/George, Avery Bradley, Lance Stephenson, and Willie Warren.  All that's left to do is fill in the remaining holes with a couple of veterans, like Jerry Stackhouse, Raja Bell, and/or Kurt Thomas (among others).

Just a thought.
