Don't forget the  ;)

?

He's referring to the fact that Pierce winked at the end of his interview.

He's so amped up right now.

His latest tweet mentions "breaking out the brooms"

Ah, okay, thanks.

Oh wow.. someone mentioned Paul Pierce's "tweets" being made by someone other than Paul him self.. if thats true, look out!

Pierces post game remarks and his tweets just made a headline at ESPN

This could get nasty.

So great entertainment

OH WOW!!

They mentioned it to Dwight Howard during his post game press conference.

Game 3 is going to be a throw back to the 80's, that game is going to become so chippy.

This is great, Loving it

if the magic need fake tweets to fire them up, they can knock themselves out.

Did anyone else read where doc totally reamed out Big Baby recently for speaking about "closing out" Cleveland? He said it was totally inappropriate. Now Pierce is saying it on national TV?

We are up 2-0, there's no need to go and say that we will sweep them. Just do it. I think that we should win this series. We are playing better basketball, but I don't think that we need to give them (Orlando)any more motivation than they already will have.

Up 2-0 is a great place to be, 3-0 would be even better - but you must show what you are made of with your actions. One game at a time. (remember game 3 at home against Cleveland?)

Bruins fans know exactly what I mean.

I hope we sweep too.

Go Big 5!

Pierce always gets a little carried away with his statements after winning...

Remember he was the self proclaimed best player in the world 2 years ago.

I think Paul is just really feeling confident right now, he's hitting his stride and that fire in his heart is building like it did in '08.  He can taste the Finals and his mouth is watering.

He showed us tonight that getting amped up like that is a great thing for him and for our team.  Paul Pierce is playing like the 2008 NBA Finals MVP, exactly when we need him to.

About as classless as it gets, but that's Pierce. I really don't care about anyone's post game statements apart from whining. Pierce has always been cocky, but that is part of what makes him a scorer.

I think that some should rethink their hate of Lebron though when Pierce talks like that.

Bottom line is words are insignificant. I also don't think Orlando can use this words for morale at this point.

Nonstory. I think saying something about "breaking out the brooms" or whatever is actually pretty tame when you consider the crap these guys say to each other on the court. Only difference is those words don't make it on Twitter. Just something for Skip Bayless and the other ESPN muppets to talk about during off days.

BIG difference between Pierce and LeBron-
the difference between "we" and "me".

I like that he spoke directly to the fanbase.  Makes you feel like he's playing not just for himself, but for Celtics fans everywhere.  That's a nice feeling; makes me feel complicit in their winning, somehow.

If you're referring to the ridiculously cocky tweets - well, he didn't actually make those.

“Our fans won’t let us relax,” (Looks into camera) “Ya’ll won’t let us relax. We going to try to close this out in two games, ya’ll hear me? We coming home to close it out.” (Winks at Camera, before walking towards tunnel and turning to fans) “See ya’ll next year”  – Paul Pierce postgame

So let me get this straight. The Celtics get 4 points out of Ray Allen, 5 of 16 shooting from The Big Ticket, and give up 30 points to Dwight Howard and the C’s still win this one? On the road?

Well you don’t get style points for playoff wins in the NBA, but in this case it doesn’t matter. Boston is simply taking care of business right now, giving themselves their fourth straight postseason road victory and a commanding 2-0 lead over the Orlando Magic, as they head back to Beantown.

Now before we get into the specifics of this one, let me just say how much I enjoyed the conclusion of that Paul Pierce’s postgame interview quoted above, as he spoke directly to the hometown fans, demanding they keep the C’s honest for games 3 and 4.

Yet it wasn’t his dialogue that struck me the most, instead it was that little wink he gave at the end. It was almost as if he was saying to his C’s fans back home, “Hey, let’s keep this just between the two of us, but you guys knew we had this all along? Right? Good. Thanks for keeping it as our little secret.”

Because you know what? That’s the irony of this whole situation. Only us Celtics fans were in on this secret.

A hacker may have inadvertently provided Orlando some added motivation afterward -- Pierce's Twitter account said "Anybody got a BROOM?" but the timing seemed to coincide with when he was answering my question on the podium.

UPDATE 1:54 AM: It's been confirmed by Athlete Interactive, the firm behind Pierce's Twitter account and other digital media, that Paul's account has been hacked.

Paul Pierce's Twitter account, @paulpierce34, has been verified for authenticity to give his followers the assurance that the feed is, in fact, legitimate. There's no guarantee that Pierce is the man behind the keyboard (or plugging away from his phone, whatever), but at the very least we can rest assured that the messages being broadcast through that frequency are done so as a representation of Pierce himself.

That makes a few of Pierce's latest tweets a bit interesting. The tweets from his account started off with some mild trash talk, warning that "You know we going crazy tonight. sorry Dwight." He followed that up with an affirmation of his earlier taunt following the Celtics Game 2 victory, and finally, a tweet heard round the world:

    nybody got a BROOM?"

There are numerous pieces of evidence that point to this being something aside from the mouthpiece of Pierce himself. The account is verified and does belong to Paul, but the bizarre online trash talk seems to have come from nowhere, contradicts Pierce and the Celtics' "taking care of business" company line in favor of a more brash approach, and while all of Pierce's other tweets were submitted via text or Twitter's web site, the tweets in question were sent in using a non-browser agent called Twitterific. Ladies and gentlemen, I'd say this is a hack.

If nothing else, it's all a bit bizarre, though I'm sure it will only be a matter of time before Pierce and his representatives confirm what we already know: the Twitter trash talk, while entertaining, isn't from Paul.
