Dahntay Jones got a contract of 3 years, 7.7 million+ 2.9 player option. I'd take that and I'd even take 3 years 9 million.
Ray Allen... I agree with Mike Gorman that he has a good 2-3 years at the level he is. But what would be a reasonable contract for both sides?
players of similar roles/skills:Manu Ginobili Ginobili, 32, will make $11.8 million in 2010-11, $12.9 million in ‘11-12 and $14.1 million in the final year of the deal, bringing the total to more than $38,8 million
Jason Richardson is making 13 now and 14 next year, BUT he's more athletic and only 29 years old. So i think that Ray should top out below that threshold.
Rip Hamilton's 08 extension kicks in next year, it breaks down to 12.6 for the next three years. BUT at the end of the that extension Richard will be the same age Ray is now. So i think Ray should be right around similar numbers because he's a more quality player.
Jason Terry is going to make 22 million over the next 2 seasons. BUT once again Terry is a couple years younger, is drastically undersized for a SG, doesn't have the same percentages, and could be considered a defensively liability. So I'd put Ray's low number right around 11. (assuming Ray won't take a nice home town discount)
