I love how confident Celtics fans are, but some of you are bordering on delusional.    Lebron tanked the series on purpose (obvious to any impartial NBA fan) against Boston for whatever reason and the Magic are just not that good, along with the Suns.

Beating the Lakers was tough in 2008, I'm not sure why you guys pretend now that is was an easy series. Without a miracle comeback from down 24 points in game 4, that series would have been 3-2 Lakers after game 5, and who knows what then?  Posey and House hitting threes were the keys to you winning game 6, two players that are now gone.

The Lakers have Bynum back (somewhat healthy) this year, and a significant upgrade in Ron Artest.  Those of you who think this will be a cakewalk are in for a rude awakening.  Of course the Celtics still have a chance to win, but that chance is not any greater than it was in 2008, and it may be even less.

Basketball is a skill game, not a wrestling match, please stop with the "toughness" argument.  The only person that Perkins intimidates with his angry scowl is his mirror.  Now if you want to say that you play aggressive, swarming, defense, fine.  But don't talk about toughness as though the players are in fear of each other.  That just sounds dumb.  No one in the NBA is physically scared of anyone.  Can we all agree on that?  Toughness is about mentality, not about physical strength.

All that said, as an NBA fan, I look forward to a great series.
Worst post of the playoffs?

Worst argument on Celticsblog ever: "...but some of you are bordering on delusional.    Lebron tanked the series on purpose (obvious to any impartial NBA fan..."

Look at 2008. Physical toughness was an issue, despite your bombast. This is why Gasol has worked to address that deficiency since then.

No one was key to winning game 6. It was a blowout. If anyone was key to game 6, it was Rondo.

LeBron was dribbling off his foot and throwing lazy, wild passes in crunch time of game 6.  If you think those wins (game 5 and 6) were legitimate, I need some of what you are smoking.  The media alluded to a fix without going all the way overboard, but the consensus mostly is that it was a team mutiny against Mike Brown.  Does Celtic fan honestly think those were legit wins?  Yikes...

And my comment about Posey and House was not their point total, but their back to back threes that started the run...does anyone watch the games or they just look at the box score after?  All I said was 08 wasn't easy and 2010 will be harder.

If Posey and House hit 0 3 pointers in Game 6 the Celtics win 119 to 92.  Sorry guess again for the key to game 6.

Even if Posey and House didn't score at all we still win 101 to 92.
Haha, he thinks Posey and House combining for 4 3's is key, yet Ray put in 7.  Just wait until Ray lights you up again.
Philly:

David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller

You're right those wins weren't legit, but it wasn't due to a team mutiny.  We won because Delonte slept with LeBron's mom.

The fact is, you were down 24 points in a Finals playoff game.  Keep thinking you will walk over the Lakers.  They will give you all you can handle.  I can't wait to read your in-game posts about how bad your team is when you are losing during games.  Having confidence is fine, but being irrationally convinced that you are going to walk over a team you have trouble beating even when Kobe is out (see last game), is ridiculous.

The Lakers were down similar margins more often than the Celtics though. In particular they were down when the game ended....

The fact is, you were down 23 in Game 2, and 43 in your chance to force a Game 7.  And unlike our comeback, the Celtics didn't blow their lead; the time the Lakers didn't completely roll over and quit, that is.

I don't think anyone here thinks we'll walk over the Lakers; they're a very good team any way you slice it.  We just aren't afraid of them and think we'll win the series.  Being 9-2 in the Finals against a team tends to do that.

This must be a joke right?

The fact is, your team team gave up a 24 point lead in the finals. Much worse than being down by 24. We're not using that last win in the reg season as proof that we are going to stomp LA in the Finals. We are using wins against Cleveland and our soon to be win over Orlando as reason to believe we will beat your team. Beating the top 2 seeded teams can do wonders for confidence.

In case you didn't notice, our d is back and we now have a top 3 pg that nobody has been able to check. All of our guys are healthy and are back to championship form.

I don't care about Ron, he won't make enough of a difference and neither will your glass body center.
Except for Kobe, every matchup favores us. LA will be tough, but they are not good enough to stop this train.

Our win against the Cavs doens't mean anything, but beating a under-sized Jazz and inexperienced Thunder team is something to be proud of? You do know the dope they sell in Cali is intended only for medical use?

Almost as ridiculous as basing the outcome of a meaningless regular season game on future playoff success?

The media loves LeBron. They started the elbow thing way before we beat the Cavs in Game 6, just to make sure they had an excuse. It's like "Oh, no, the King is only human?! What to do?" Even if LBJ did tank those games (which I think is just ridiculous, by the way), he would be a fool for doing so. Who is to say he ever gets his ring? Players with no rings are easily forgotten, just ask Barkley. That ring is the difference between good and great.

Assuming we beat Orlando and you beat Phoenix, we shall look forward to thrashing you once again.

I don't really think the Lakers have done much this season to show that they're better than Cleveland or Orlando (who looked more impressive dispatching a 50+ win team than you have).

If Rondo hadn't sprained his ankle in game three we'd have swept the Lakers. Doesn't mean we'll win this time, but the better team clearly won in 2008.

And, ahem, down by 43 in another Finals playoff game. Ouch.
