I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong.

After Game 1 of this series, I hated Rasheed (and I made a post about it).  He wasn't playing much at that point, but it seemed like every minute he was on the floor brought down the team.  He was a momentum killer.  After a long season where he seemed to give little to no effort whatsoever - after talking a big game before the season started - Rasheed was just as bad in the first round.  All his talk about turning it on in the playoffs seemed to be just that.  This guy looked like a colossal waste of money, and a disappointing symbol of the Celtics' so far fairly disappointing season.

Then, in Game 2, Rasheed exploded on a hot streak, hitting 3 from long range and racking up 17 points to help the Celtics to a blow out win.  After that, other than Game 3 when nobody on the C's showed up until the second quarter, Rasheed played solid.  He hustled for 50-50 balls, he played acceptable defense (while admittedly committing a lot of dumb fouls), and in the deciding game he hit more than a couple clutch shots.  He was big for us in two of our 4 wins in this series.

So...sorry Sheed.  You aren't back in my good graces just yet, but keep playing hard against the Magic and it won't be long.

Ball don't lie.

Sheed was great tonight ... but his problem is, and always has been, consistency. I'll thank him for tonight, but remain reticent for the next series.

I loved his effort throughout most of the series and that three in the 4th quarter was a Robert Horry / Posey-type clutch shot that we've been waiting for from him. But darn it, someone needs to tell him to put his arms straight in the air and stop committing needless fouls! Occasionally it pays to foul on purpose but it's practically a once-in-a-game event if actually tries to contest without fouling.

No need for an apology on Sheed. He mailed in about 95% of the season and deserved any criticism he got.

Wow - As much as I'd love to bask in this thread, I cannot.

I am still hungry, as are Our Celtics. We conquered CLE. Now we have ORL to contend with.

I just visited Silver Screen and Roll not too long ago. They had a 1500+ post game thread on CLE-Bos. Many of their fans want Boston.

Sheed - Your work isn't done. I've always supported you, and you helped us win two games this series and didn't hurt us in the other games, but We need you even more against ORL and potentially LA!

But ORL first. We need all of the Bigs we have now.

Time to grab the lunch pail and go to work again, Big Fella! Play like you played on Christmas day, and we have a shot VS ORL!

Sheed came up big in this series - it doesn't excuse his poor play in the previous one or during the season but we definitely signed him for moments/games like this and so far he has delivered when it mattered. I thought he hurt us at the end of the game last night when he seemed to be tired but his timely 3's were huge (most notably the one he made after he gave LeBron a 3 point play) and his rebounds were huge too. It was great to see him hustle and save the ball out of bounds on key possessions.

Keep it up Sheed, we will need you to play like against Orlando!

Absolutely.  Even now, he played about three good games this series.  Showing up in 50% of your team's games isn't great, but from Sheed, I'll take it.  He was great last night in the second half.

Whatever production I see from Sheed is just icing on the cake.  I don't expect much from him now, so when he does perform it's just a nice bonus to how well the Celtics are playing now.

Rasheed deserved the criticism he received. He played very poorly for most of the season.

Not to mention that his good games are far below the expectations his contract, and own words would lead us to have.

Still if he'll fight for loose rebounds and play like this in the Orlando series I'll take it. Though I hope he doesn't have to us his fouls so quickly on Howard, I think we'll need slightly longer minutes from him.

I already pulled up my "Rasheed Infected the Team With Lazy" thread and apologized to Sheed.

Rasheed played well last night.  I even saw him jump a few times!

He's no Mikki Moore, though.
