No they aren't. They have the best player though.

3 HOFs and Rondo leads to a lot of mismatches.

On a side note they have a better team than Orlando and the team they will have to play in the Finals as well.

Yes, I think so ... but the Celtics starting lineup is better than the Cavs starting lineup.
Yeah, Delonte/Moon/AV/Hickson gives them a killer bench.

I'm glad Mike Brown isn't using it well.

The probelm is all about what the NBA has become.  Lebron is a victim of marketing.  Here are the big threes stats during the peek of their carrers.  Not that far off Lebron's yet they were never pushed in such a manner as Lebron.

People continue to underestimate just how good these three players are.

Lebron James             7.3        8.6            29.7
Paul Pierce             6.9        3.2     26.1
Kevin Garnett           13.9        5.0     24.2
Ray Allen           4.5        4.1       26.4

anyone else like the fact that nobody is even talking about boston for tonight? it is kind of like the game and the Cs are secondary to all this james soap opera. i think boston is going to come out tonight and be very focused on the task at hand

When the Celts were nicked up in the regular season, yes, the Cavs were the better team.  Now the shoes are on the other feet.

You also need to look at their TS%, but yes all three were amazing players at their peaks.

Only Garnett was ever as good as LBJ though.

  • You say when......
There really isn't a comparison here, the C's are the better TEAM, if people have been watching the C's throughout the year. They get everyone involved in the game, and the players themselves work on new things to bring to the table. Cleve, well the guys there aren't that bad, but for their ages, they do not, nor ever will compare to the Celtics. They are lucky if they can match up to older Celtics players. Jamison will never be a PP or Ray A, he is younger, so what is he waiting for..? The guards vs Rondo, not a chance, D West is probably as good as he will get, Mo, the same. Varajo.....,he does good things for them, but isn't worth the $$$ he gets, without LBJ, what would he really do....? He has no post up game, no outside shot, his goods are movement without the ball, court sense, and ability to get to the rebound and finish, a good athelete...maybe a decent shot ( i just don't like his style~ sort of) The only two with more potential is moon amd parker.....and in a way LBJ keeps them from blooming, becasue no one else on that team gets plays run for THEM....But their ball movement, shooting and individual talent, well I'd say no.....LBj may be like a young Jorden, before he learned how to bring the rest of the team with him...but he isn't really a Jorden...Jorden wasn't ever stoppable...he at least would rack up some assists in a poor scoring game, besides, they would double  MJ.....do you see many double teams on LBJ..?  As for Shaq, he is big, strong, does get away with the famous boody-down-back-you-down play..which IS a foul...he backs people down sometimes 4-5 steps.......the other guy is flat footed in position, that is another ref failure......add it to the list....just my opinion, but I'd say the refs have collectively decided to show their influence on the game, be a major controlling part of it, who plays, the flow, and who can do what, when.....that isn't what they are supposed to be doing.  Hence LBJ and his crazy allowance.....a travelling man first off,,MJ never did that "crab dribble", funny how he even had a name for it...we just call it TRAVELLING!  LBJ needs a lot of extra ref help to rise to this level, otherwise, the D on him would stop him a lot more than other stars he is compared too...!

It's clear to the entire sports world that CLE is not the better team.  Lets see if David Stern wants to keep some integrity in the game and doesn't let his refs bail out his star.

They have the best player.  They are a better regular season team.

We have the 2nd-5th best players in the series and we have a much better coach.  We are a better playoff team IMO.

Yeah, Lebron is not just the best player, he is far and away the best player. Best in the NBA. And he is very very capable of putting on a show in either of these last games. Plus his teamamtes can get hot from the outside at any time. We need to take them out one game at a time. One quarter at a time.

Win or loose though, I think the Celtics do in fact have the superior team. Their team work is better - passing, rotating. And RR, PP, KG are all top 15-20 players in the NBA IMO. If there was such a thing as all nba 4th team, these 3 guys would have / should have made that team.

Go Celtics!!

If LeBron is leading the way with a spectacular performance, the Cavs are the better team.

If LeBron isn't the best player on the court by a wide margin, the Cs are the better team.  Boston doesn't really have one player who can consistently dominate, but they've got 4 who can be the best player on the court for brief stretches.

C's have the been team without a doubt. I was laughing at Charles and Webber before game 1 when they were saying the only advantage the C's have at the 5 starting positions was PG. They couldn't be more wrong.

I'd also say the Celtics have the 4 best players in the series after Elbron.

I'd rank them:
Elbron
Rondo
Garnett
Pierce
Allen
Shaq
Jamison
Williams
Perkins
Parker
