THIS is why we need to send the Cavs packing following game 6, and allow LeFull-of-Himself begin his summer "tell me how great I am" tour...

Quote from ESPN.com today:

"I spoil a lot of people with my play," James said. "When you have a bad game here or there, you've had three bad games in a seven-year career, then it's easy to point that out..."

"Three bad games?..."  I've got a suggestion: let's make it 4!

Sorry, but I can't stand this guy...He's one of the top 10 most arrogant athletes alive today and I can honestly say I don't think I'd want him as a teammate.  Afterall, he hasn't made the Cavs a better team, and Dan Gilbert has given him plenty of ammunition.  He's a superstar player, but not a champion - and after watching this series, I don't think he gets anything but himself...

That quote from LeBron: "I spoil a lot of people with my play. When you have a bad game here or there, you've had three bad games in a seven-year career, then it's easy to point that out."

just sums up why so many people despise him.  I've defended him plenty, but falling back on the "I'm usually really good!  Honest!  So what if we're on the verge of a second straight playoff meltdown and it's mostly my fault!" is just mental cowardice.  You'd've never heard Jordan talking like that...he'd never put himself in that position anyway, but if he had he'd be staring lasers into the podium and getting ready to absolutely eviscerate whoever had embarrassed him like that.

LeBron's statistically an all-time great player, but he's got a long way to go to be an all-time winner, and most of it's psychological.

I agree completely with you, Andy Jick.  Last night's post-game press conference showed a lot about his self-centered mindset.  In a sense, he was simultaneously patting himself on the back and calling out his teammates for not ever winning when he has an off night.

Did you hear Shaq too?  He was saying that everyone needs to man up and play defense after reciting Rondo's Game 4 stat line.  Sounds to me like there is some finger pointing going on and this culture starts with LeCrab Cakes.  Somebody please change his soiled diaper.

Every comment Lebron made last night was directed at Mike Brown.  Lebron is tired of bailing out Brown and wants a new coach.

Gotta disagree with you on 1 point though, Andy:

Afterall, he hasn't made the Cavs a better team, and Dan Gilbert has given him plenty of ammunition.

Remember the Cavs before LeBron? They had the crappiest, slowdown, grind it out, first-team-to-80-wins team in the late 90s-early 00s.  LeBron hasn't made em a champion, but they're a heck of a lot better than they were before he got there.

So Mike Brown is to blame for this entire series and the so-called greatest player in the world bears no blame?

He doesn't get it.  It wasn't that he had a bad game, it was that he didn't look like he was trying out there.  He wasn't aggressive.  He wasn't showing any leadership, which I think his teammates needed.  They saw LeBron checked out of the game, why are they going to be diving for the 50/50 loose balls; dude's bailing on them in a couple of weeks regardless of what happens.

With all the money the Cavs have spend acquiring complementary players, they still lack a true #2.  Every other player they have has huge holes in their game.  Watching Jamison, I'm shocked that he was a 20PPG scorer for Washington; what exactly does he do all that well?  He's not BAD...  but he's not all good.  Mo's a joke.  Shaq way too slow to grab any rebounds.

If and when LeBron signs his Knicks contract....  Cleveland's going to be B-A-D.  Epically bad.

I've also begun coming to the conclusion that I just don't believe LeBron CAN have a true #2 alongside him; will his ego allow it?  Let's say D-Wade or Bosh wants to play in New York alongside him; can LeBron share the spotlight?  He wants to win, of course, but only on his terms.  I can't see LeBron doing what Pierce and KG and Ray Allen have done.

Ha!  No way Racker.  Check out my 'Conspiracy' post.  I am not foolish enough to think this has nothing to do with the Celtics play on the floor.

I think you are seeing Lebron tiring of bailing out Mike Brown and Brown refusing to change his mindset of his offensive game plans.

Lebron is to take blame for lax play, but he may actually be doing it to prove a point.

I read the same thing and thought the same.

I wonder what the total context was but still that comment just stinks. I cant even imagine saying something like that.

It should be, "I had a bad game and I let my team down. Ill have to be better"

He should have said that he sets the bar pretty high for HIMSELF and he fell well below it.

Instead he focused on how people will view ths game and the perception people will have of this game because of his "spoiling" people with other great performances. In other words, you expect too much from me.

Give me a break. If I were a Cavs fan I would be offended by that quote.

I am not in the "hate Lebron as a person" club but Im inching ever so closer so being a card carrying member.

Yeah frustration must be setting in for him but you have to admit that quote was pretty arrogant regardless of context.

He is supposed to be the leader of that team. How would you view that comment if you were a teammate of his?

Picture Larry Bird saying that.

Larry had a "way" about him in that you never sensed it was about him...  Maybe it was his "shyness" but I've never thought Larry to be arrogant.

I get the picture that LeBron is so intent on getting to his free agent tour this summer that this playoffs is all about window-dressing, that he really doesn't want to be in Cleveland anymore.  It's not the numbers, but the body-language.

And LeBron has made the Cavs a better franchise...  But so did the Price-Daugherty-Nance-Harper team (following the mediocrity that was Bagley-Free-Hinson).  But Dan Gilbert isn't paying over 100 million dollars for this team to be better than previous eras - he's paying them to win a title, and he did this ALL FOR LEBRON because he knows that if he leaves, it will look more like the end of last night's game in that building with all those empty seats...

And if you don't believe me, see the Cleveland Indians for your example, who reside just across the street (having grown up in Ohio all my life and making MANY trips to Cleveland I know the city quite well).  The Indians SOLD OUT TONS of games in the 90's...it was unheard of what the fans did.  But today?  It's a joke...  They have an owner (Dolan) who is a bottom line guy, and he won't put any money into the roster (and the money that has been spent is foolishly on two players, Hafner & Westbrook, who've spent more time injured than playing in the last 2 years).  The point is that Cleveland fans are frugal with their money, and the area is going through a tough time due to the economy (and the industrial town that it largely is has been greatly impacted).

LeBron goes, it's all over...and I believe that will happen before our very eyes.  LeBron could put an end to this and speak of the importance of the here-and-now.  But he leaves everyone in a mystery, and that tells me he's got one foot out the door already...

Larry Bird would NEVER have done that, so the comparison is null and void...
"It was easier to know it than to explain why I know it."

Prediction: After all this piling on, I expect Lebron to go for 50 in game 6. Celtics will still win, but Lebron is going to make it really difficult.

It is a pretty absurd thing to say and not what you want the leader of a team to be saying down 3-2 in a playoff series.

Also, three games? Lets have a look. Lebron's playoff performances:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pgl_finder.cgi?request=1&player=jamesle01&match=game&year_min=2004&year_max=2010&age_min=0&age_max=99&team_id=&opp_id=&is_playoffs=Y&game_num_min=0&game_num_max=99&game_month=&game_location=&game_result=&is_starter=&is_active=&is_hof=&pos=&c1stat=&c1comp=gt&c1val=&c2stat=&c2comp=gt&c2val=&c3stat=&c3comp=gt&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=pts&order_by_asc=Y

(sorry that link is so long) Sort it by fg% and you can count...22 games shooting under 40%. I think within that you find far more than 3 bad games. 22 games shooting under 40 percent. 12 games 35% or under. Still think three bad games LeBron? Give the D some credit.

I am not in the "hate Lebron as a person" club but Im inching ever so closer so being a card carrying member.

join now while there are still spots left...once he bails outta Cleveland that whole state will want to join...though all the bandwagon Knicks fans will cancel their memberships so you should be ok...

Lebron is the biggest clown in the game. I've said it for the last two years and all I've had said back to me is that I hate him because he's good,  well now people are finally seeing the light.

The handshake
The number change to honor jordan but spite russell
The obnoxious powder throwing
The Brett Favre like  stringing along of Cleveland on whether he will come back or not
Kicking the waterbottles at the fans
The pregame "photos"
Walking through the Celtics team huddle during a timeout (Very Arod like)
The 60minutes interview with him when he casually threw in the ball from 3/4 court and acted like it was no big deal
The attitude that he is bigger than the game

But most of all, what solidified him in the idiot club with me is prior to game 4 during shootaround I notice his team doing their shots, getting ready for the game, and he's sitting at half court trying to make half court shots with one hand and one leg or whatever, and when the team sees this, they all get out of his way. He cares more about getting on TV for that kind of stuff than letting his team get ready for what was a big game. He is a joke, I hope to god that he NEVER wins a ring. Talent alone doesnt mean you deserve to win, you have to be a winner and have a winning attitude, and he does not.
