Yea, but this Orlando team is much different than last years. Last year, they had a mediocre starting 2 guard in Courtney Lee, now they have Vincanity. They lost the Turk, but got back Barnes and a healthy Pietrus. Plus backup PG in JWill, just a solid team. That series will be harder than this one. We best close it out in Bean Town.
Can't stop, Rondo!

We still have to get through LBJ.  He's not done yet, not by a long shot.

Yep. Guy has come up big in some must win games in our building. Game 3 this year and Game 7 2008 come to mind. There's no banner hanging in our rafters from 2 years ago if Pierce didn't play like a champion in that game. That's how delicate winning a title can be.

Turk was huge for them. He was a matchup disaster for us.

Now we have someone that can matchup with a player at every position for the Magic.

Last year:
Dwight vs. Perk
Lewis vs. BBD/Scal
Turk vs. Pierce
Lee vs. Ray
Alston vs. Rondo

This year:
Dwight vs. Perk
Lewis vs. KG
Pietrus/Barnes vs. Pierce
Vince vs. Ray
Jameer vs. Rondo

We are just much better off in our defensive matchups this year than we were last year.

All this is moot if we can't win 1 of the last 2 games though.

Speaking of last year...

Can anyone HONESTLY post here that they're upset about not bringing Leon Powe back?  I love his passion for basketball, but one has to wonder if he'll ever get back to form.  Dude looks like an 80 year old man running around out there who should probably take a pass this year and get himself ready for 2010-11.

Funny, but I recall the BBD vs. Powe debate, and many here wanted Powe back and allow Glen Davis to walk...

As we often say in church: sometimes the best prayers are the ones we don't get answered... :)

Obviously the Magic are far more than just a solid team, they're good. No doubt. Vince still doesn't scare me, though. If he gets hot, just put Tony on him. If TA can seriously slow D-Wade, he can do it to Vince, too. With Vince being Vince Carter, a dude who in the past has liked to take 40 foot threes, I'll take it because Tony will not let him do anything out there.

*Assuming, of course we can close out Cleveland.

Considering that what happens in game 1 doesn't seem to tell us much about game 2, I don't see why we should expect last year against Orlando to tell us much about this year against Clev (or even against Orlando).

The important point I got from the thread title is don't get cocky. We are actually in worse shape now because if we think we figured Clev out, we will probably be returning to Clev.

Well, here's hoping we get our revenge.

That's a cool sig, but it looks like we have a good chance to be the ones who stop Lebron getting to the finals  ;)

But Celtics v. Lakers works just as well for Stern, to be honest.

Yep. I'd love it if our guys walked around just a little bit worried the next couple of days.

LBJ is gonna take such a beating the next two days, the first quarter of game six will be crucial. He's gonna come out like a house on fire. If we can render him ineffective or bury his teammates during that stretch, I think they might fold. I have no confidence in their mental toughness at all.

I think Cavs are the ones walking around worried and they should be. Boston got momentum, lead and a game plan, Cavs have LeBron James and that's it.
No one can beat Celtics in a seven games series when healthy.

Yeah no doubt.  Except for it being 3-2 I don't see very many similiarities at all. But by all means fret away my fellow C's fans because I can do all the boasting for us.

in Round 2 vs. Orlando...and let it slip away---FOCUS on Thursday and stay AGGRESSIVE for 48 minutes--Then, REVENGE on Orlando and Sweep against LA--!!

Hopefully we won't all be saying "Sorry, chief.  Missed by that much" after Thursday.

Jeff, I think the negative Tommy Point feature should be temporarily re-activated, and its use authorized against anyone who starts talking about Orlando or LA too soon.

I'm not saying we can afford a letdown, but last year the Celtics sort of pulled a rabbit out of a hat to get ahead of Orlando in that series.
Yup

Yeah, I hope last year's situation still rings in the Celtics' ears although it was a different situation (game 6 on the road, no KG and no inside presence basically, plus the guys were tired of the first round and the series against Orlando).

Anyway I'm still worried they could come out and lay a bigg egg on game 6 but after game 3 lesson and the fact that we have Cleveland on their heels... I don't see that happening. Which doesn't mean this will be an easy game!
