Were seeing it now. Pierce has not been himself. HE looks lost out on the court. HE seems like he doesnt even belong. This is not a bash thread. This is actually a give him a break thread.

Remember 2 years ago...

When Ray Allen had a horrid series vs the Cavs? We all remember it. Even if Wally Sczerbiak was guarding Allen, he still couldnt do anything. Why?

Well your seeing it from Pierce in this series. Its funny that the same person (TONY ALLEN) is the one in the game to back them up.

Just like Ray Allen in 08, Pierce is feeling the same, out of place, not an option, like if he misses the next shot he takes that everyone will be thinking, what the hell pierce! On the other hand Ray Allen (despite even 8-21 shooting) is feeling the oppossite. Confident, hes opening his mouth, hes taking way more shots and he feels like everyone is behind him.

Sometimes this happens as you saw in 08' with Allen. When you have 4 superstar type players on the team, its almost natural that one may have one of those series where they feel either left out, or the weight of the world is watching them, that every shot is the biggest shot of the game, and that if they miss it, everyone will be wondering what the heck is going on.

But I hope everyone can understand now, what Ray went through, and what the captain is going through now. His body and wear and tear definently play a part, but if we make it through this series, im confident Pierce will bounce back.

Hopefully he can break out in the remaining three games, but just like Pierce and Tony Allen stepped up in 08', we have the other Allen and Tony Allen to pick up the slack.

This is a team game and when one of your teammates is down, you dont point the finger or blame him, your help him out and pick up the slack.

Thats what im loving most about this team. NO CARMELO ANTHONY "i need help" no Joe Johnson " i dont care " , none of that. This team holds together and while i may not translate into a win, you can see that their playing for eachother and not for themselves.

Pierce struggles in that series 2 years ago as well, but he came alive in game 7.

We don't have HC and we can't wait for a game 7 for PP to start ballin...he needs to step up now, he is struggling mightily in this series but Paul should take it upon himself to step up...never have I seen him do 16-50 in a playoff series in his career.

Can't use that because he is guarding Lebron excuse because hey, even Ray and TA are guarding the King but they were able to still contribute well enough on the offensive end..Its time to start backing up your mouth Paul, we will not win this series if Rondo does it alone.Paul Pierce better show up.

You may have not but I have. Pierce has had much worse series than this.

PP played ok in cleveland..esp game 1. we do need him to pick it up....but i saw signs yesterday. the foul trouble is getting him out of his game. i still expect he has one game of 20 plus in this series

Pierce is not quite as good as he was two seasons ago.

Lebron is better then he was two seasons ago.

The difference between them has widen.

But I expect we will see big game Pierce again before these playoffs end.

true. but also, if people can remember, PP was terrible during that series 2 years ago, and only came alive at game 7, where coincidentaly Posey guarded lebron mostly (which also coincided with lebron going off).

if that happens again, we may see another repeat of that scenario, but due to the point above, i can still see lebron outplaying pierce

So was Lebron.

Pierce played better two season's ago offensively and defensively.

I was wondering when you were going to come out of the woodwork my friend.

Your comments used to get me angry because your bias is rediculous but now I just laugh.

But Ill just say the same thing I say to all of your posts.

We get it. You love Ray Allen and hate Paul Pierce. You are not a Celtics fan and you will not convince the majority of people here that Paul Pierce sucks.

You dont have to prove Ray Allen is great by saying Pierce sucks, because he doesnt, they are both great.

Edit: After reading your post you really didnt give Pierce that hard of a time, although I know you wanted too!

Still though, you dont need to compare the two all the time. It gets really tiresome.

By the way if it takes two years of basketball games for you to find a stretch of evidence to make your point, how does that help your argument?

It doesn't seem to matter that we don't have home court.  The Celtics seem better on the road anyway.

True but I am petrified of a game 7 in Cleveland

Pierce needs to try and get to the bucket instead of taking jumpers. That is how he will get himself going.

Where is Antoine? Let's bring him back to have him yell at Pierce.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I don't think we need to get Pierce going.  He's got tough match ups.  LeBron has played him tough.  I don't think it's a coincidence that when Ray Allen has taken more shots than Pierce in this series we've won and when Pierce has taken more shots than Ray we've lost.  We need to ride Ray and Rondo in the next 3 games.  Those are our favorable match ups, we need to exploit them.  Right now, Pierce is trying way too hard to get going.  In the first quarter when he was sitting with foul trouble, the team looked amazing, lots of ball movement, shots coming from everyone.  When he got back in the game, the offense became slow with no ball movement.  I'm not saying Pierce has lost it, but there's no question he's a step slower and just doesn't have the ability to beat LeBron one on one right now.  Pierce needs to start slashing and get a little more movement without the ball instead of trying to iso.  Until he starts doing that, he's going to have to accept being the 4th option on offense behind Rondo, Ray and KG.  If he doesn't and he starts taking more shots than Ray and Rondo, we have no chance to win this series.
