Were seeing it now. Pierce has not been himself. HE looks lost out on the court. HE seems like he doesnt even belong. This is not a bash thread. This is actually a give him a break thread.
Remember 2 years ago...
When Ray Allen had a horrid series vs the Cavs? We all remember it. Even if Wally Sczerbiak was guarding Allen, he still couldnt do anything. Why?
Well your seeing it from Pierce in this series. Its funny that the same person (TONY ALLEN) is the one in the game to back them up.
Just like Ray Allen in 08, Pierce is feeling the same, out of place, not an option, like if he misses the next shot he takes that everyone will be thinking, what the hell pierce! On the other hand Ray Allen (despite even 8-21 shooting) is feeling the oppossite. Confident, hes opening his mouth, hes taking way more shots and he feels like everyone is behind him.
Sometimes this happens as you saw in 08' with Allen. When you have 4 superstar type players on the team, its almost natural that one may have one of those series where they feel either left out, or the weight of the world is watching them, that every shot is the biggest shot of the game, and that if they miss it, everyone will be wondering what the heck is going on.
But I hope everyone can understand now, what Ray went through, and what the captain is going through now. His body and wear and tear definently play a part, but if we make it through this series, im confident Pierce will bounce back.
Hopefully he can break out in the remaining three games, but just like Pierce and Tony Allen stepped up in 08', we have the other Allen and Tony Allen to pick up the slack.
This is a team game and when one of your teammates is down, you dont point the finger or blame him, your help him out and pick up the slack.
Thats what im loving most about this team. NO CARMELO ANTHONY "i need help" no Joe Johnson " i dont care " , none of that. This team holds together and while i may not translate into a win, you can see that their playing for eachother and not for themselves.
