I think the OP did a bad job in wording the point he was trying to get across.
IMO, he's not trying to compare Toney to Rondo as players. What he's trying to convey is that Toney in his prime was a player that Boston fans were just exasperated with and hated to see the C's have to play the Sixers knowing Toney was going to go off for one of his Andrew Toney type games. I hate using the word "afraid" or "feared" but the Celtics had no answers for him when he was playing liked he did many, mant times versus the Celtics.
Obviously the OP hated seeing the Sixers and Toney because Toney was SUCH a Celtic killer. I think what he is saying is that teams across the league, especially teams that now consider themselves rivals of the Celtics, must hate having to play the Celtics with Rondo, especially in the playoffs, because they now have that same feelings about Rondo that the OP had about Andrew Toney.
Having been a teenager during those Toney years, I can understand his POV.
