Rumor:  Paul Pierce Ray Allen and K.G. have all agreed to retire after the season. In a move to help the C's to sign Wade and Bosh then the Big 3 will come back for pennies on the doller.

OK OK My friend Harris Vanaris. He's a little crazy, but a good chap overall.

Well, no offense to your buddy, but the rumor is pretty crazy. Like using 2 pieces of fried chicken as bread crazy.

This rumor is utter nonsense. It's fiction.

Unlikely that it's true, but it's not utterly rubbish either.

Dwyane Wade said to an NBA.com writer (can't find the article) something to the effect of "Yeah, we have" when the writer asked if him, Bosh and James had talked about taking less money to play together.

Didn't Bill Simmons write an article about this?  Like a what if article.  There was one somewhere on it, I feel as if it was Page 2 on ESPN.
do it

Wait, so is this a "rumor", or a conspiracy theory by your friend who has no inside information whatsoever?

Wouldn't Joe Johnson be more likely to take less money and be a better second or third fiddle to Lebron?

When some of these guys start resigning with their current teams, I think JJ is going to be the one to make out like a bandit.

Someone is going to toss max money his way after losing out on Lebron/Bosh/Wade.

I agree.  I also think he is by far the least likely to take a paycut to win.  He has shown in the past that he wants to get paid, and he does not have the star power that Lebron and Wade have off the court to make up for any lost revenue.

I also have a feeling JJ needs the validation of a max contract a little more than Wade and Lebron do, since I think they feel pretty confident about their worth, no matter what size the checks are, and I don't think JJ can say the same thing.

Also, judging by JJ's recent comments, he already has one foot out the door in ATL.

He's definitely gone.

And add the fact that Johnson relies most heavily on his basketball salary as his source of income. The others, especially Wade and James, probably exceed their basketball incomes with endorsements.
