Quote
Antoine Walker is trying to make a comeback

....

I think I speak for everyone when I say "WHAT?!?!?"

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Antoine-Walker-is-trying-to-make-a-comeback?urn=nba,238954

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in Celticsblog.   ::)

I truly wish him the best of luck.  He deserves another shot in the NBA.  Especially considering that there are players from the 'D' league that are on rosters more often than not.

Sign him up for next season. The 1, 2 punch of Sheed and Toine off the bench will be glorious.

Shoot, I guessed Gerald Green.

If Toine can get in shape somebody'll take a shot.  Big if though.

if he can get himself back into game shape and has some skills someone thinks will help them, more power to him.  always wished the best for him and still do

Not a whole lot of substance to the report (would a quote kill `em?), but if Toinee can still play he deserves as much of a shot as anyone.  That seems like a big "if" though.
Yup

Get 'em Toine!  ;D I support a comeback by any and all of our old friends (as long as it's not in Boston of course).
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Can't imagine he can still play... at the NBA level.

This is just an attempt to pay off his gambling debts of course.

Pretty much.  That said, that makes me want him to succeed even more.  Yeah he made dumb mistakes but let's not begrudge him or criticize him for trying to make things right(He really has no choice but to do that anyway.....)

I think there are a couple of teams that, if Toine is in-shape(big "if" again), might take a flyer on him.  2 Teams that come to mind are NY and the Clips.

i agree, but i dont blame him for trying. where else could he make enough money in such a short time to pay off those massive debts?

i wish him luck in losing weight first. good luck to him in finding a team other than the celtics second.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Well, at the bottom of the depth charge, we have Scals, Gaffney, and Lafayette. I say we can dump one of them for 'Toine.

Yep.

I have Too Many memories of Toine in green...I remember that one game where he practically put Boston on his back and beat Washington on the road during a regular season game several years ago.

The man went off for like 49 pts..no one the Wiz/Bullets placed on him could slow him down. Threes, dunks, rebounds..you name it, he did it in that game.

We all remember his Leadership during that Pacers Series - he was Great.

Hope the best for him.
