I saw this proposed by a Denver fan on another site. I can see the reasoning for both teams and I think I would do it. I admit, however, that I really have not seen that much of Nene, so my perception of him as an upgrade might be off.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

You probably haven't seen him because he's injured a lot...

He's paid an awful lot, and his defense slipped quite a bit this year.

I'd think about it, but a lot depends on how much expending Perk would cost us.

Getting rid of Sheed might be alright, but why would we trade the best one-on-one defensive center in the league, and one of the top five one-on-one defensive players and an incredible team defender, for a player who's middling on defense and not particularly great on offense? Not to mention that Perk is very reasonably priced.

Now if the Cs think they couldn't re-sign Perk, that might be different. Otherwise, you don't trade the heart of your defense unless you are getting something in return.

Would not trade Perk if they are moving Nene because he is to soft.

I just don't trust Nene's health.

Now Wallace and filler, I would be tempted; but worried about how that would impact grabbing other players at other positions.

No way would I trade Perkins for Nene. I would only trade Perkins for a lottery pick at this point. I certainly wouldn't trade him just to move Sheed's contract for a player of less than Perk's ability.

What masochist would like to see Nene guarding Howard straight up 4 times a season?!

Thanks, but no thanks.

I think there would be better options available ... but, yeah, I think it could provide an upgrade so I would be okay making that deal.

Not a large upgrade, more a different skill-set with somewhat similar overall value. I prefer the different skill-set.

Perk and Rondo are best friends, we can't trade him we have to keep Rondo happy!

I love Nene, and I love his game and intensity. However, I dont think I would make such a trade. He is too injury prone and often plays more like a power forward then a center. He wouldnt be able to bang with the bigger centers in the league. I cant believe how underratted Perk's defense STILL is.

agreed!
perk's defense is huge for us, he is only center who can play dwight howard 1 on 1 which is key to us winning a title

I'd say no to this trade.

If moving him for a center, it'd better be Howard, Lopez (Brook, not Robin) or a very healthy Yao.  In short, only for an upgrade, a definite upgrade, nothing less.  (Well, maybe Oden or Noah if there's some sweetener thrown in).

Unrealistic?  absolutely, that's how I like my trades.

No way is right.  Perk is incredibly valuable (the C's have invested years and $$ grooming him) and it would just about have to be the deal of the decade to part with him.

Nene's the much more fluid athlete and smoother player.  I think he'd be a much better fit alongside Rondo.  And we'd be rid of Sheed. So yes, I would do it.

I like Perk a lot but just because he is a great one on one defender against Howard doesn't make it worth paying him loads. I mean Howard isn't even a good offensive player, we can all admit that. Also Defending the oldest player in the league doesn't make it worth it either
