How many times did our best player tonight, Rajon Rondo, get knocked down by "hard, playoff fouls" that left him writhing in pain?

What was our response to this?? We assuredly didn't respond in kind by knocking LeQueen on his ass, and we had ample opportunity the many times he took it to the basket, or Mo Wms when he got hot or any other Cavs.

We can not win this series by letting our most important player get the crap beat out of him and not respond. All I can think of is the Bruins collective lack of balls when Cook took out Savard.
Doesn't anything get this team p---ed off enough to make them show some pride. They all need to grow a pair, and quick or Sir ChumpCharles will be right.

We should have won this game and can't blame the refs. Cleveland wanted it more. Let's hope that changes.

Epic TP's coming to you, sir. This is exactly what my grandpa and I were talking about. You've got to defend your team mate. Maybe not necessarily try and hurt someone else but let 'em know that that bull crap isn't going to fly and if they wanna get tough they gotta be willing to take it too.

I know Pierce was in fouls trouble but he shouldnt have let Mo WIlliams throw down that dunk. You gotta take away those two points and make him earn it. That was a huge turning point.

Another TP from me. I have already posted this twice on the front page. The C's hung Rondo out to dry tonight and did not commit one hard foul. Ubuntu my butt.

The thing here, though, is that If we retaliate, then I am sure that whoever does it gets tossed for a few games. We just have to play through this.

That is one of the things I miss about James Posey - the man had a sneaky way of retaliating..he would foul after the whistle..just do little things to get under the opponent's skin.

But Boy did KG look 2008-ish out there. We still have a shot, even after tonight.

I firmly believe that if we win game two, with KG looking like he is, we will win the series. However, if we lose game 2, you might as well stick a fork in us. That is unless we channel some of that old Celtic mystique.

C in Orlando..I have mentioned the same thing before. But the Celtics cannot retaliate..not in a way where the refs are waiting for it. We know what happens when we do.

Doc has to motivate these guys to persevere through this, like he did in 2008.

This game was lost in the 2nd half when we could not get any bench production to "buy time" to rest our starters.

Our starters are the ones who use up the most energy or are the elder statesmen of the team.

If we get a productive bench we could could actually have fielded out a real team out there tonight.

I think the retaliation thing is tricky because against this Cavs team where some of the calls can be so bizarre even a hard foul could get one of our guys ejected. You don't want to risk losing guys or getting Ts.

The other thing is it's easy to pick on Rondo because he's so small but Lebron is possible bigger than anyone on our team. Except Perk maybe but I doubt it. Whenever I watch them play the Magic he looks as big or bigger that Dwight to me. I know he likes to wilt like a wallflower whenever there's contact but I doubt a hard foul from our bigs will affect him much.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Have to agree with everyone. We got bullied. We didn't punch back the way we needed to.

This is a big part of the sheer stupidity with which we played the second half.

Pretty simple. We got hit in the mouth and we quit playing. Unlike another thread on this board, there's nothing encouraging about it. That was one of the dumbest second halves of playoff basketball I've seen in awhile. Even if we've made up our minds that we're gonna quit moving the basketball and defending, a nice hard foul isn't nuclear fission.

In a one possession game, you can't really get technicals or a flagrant because of the extra possessions/ft's it will give them. It's like baseball: you don't bean a guy in the 9th inning: you wait until the next game or something. And it's not like they were excessive. Shaq really did only look like he was going for the ball. He's just big.

Rondo got fouled hard at least three times tonight. Not one Cav got fouled hard. That is unacceptable.
