CLEVELAND -- LeBron James has joined one of the NBA's most exclusive clubs.

The Cavaliers superstar was voted the league's MVP for the second straight year, a person familiar with the announcement told The Associated Press on Friday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the league has not announced the results of the vote.

Yeah yeah, I'm sure some of you want to show me their "shocked" faces right now, or eat your hearts out. Or both. :D

I know I will when I hear TNT on Saturday saying things like..."The Reigning MVP drives...."

I'll be watching this entire series with my TV on mute. I suggest you do the same.

"We'll be watching the MVP's elbow closely as it is attached to the reigning MVP.  Let's go over to Craig Sager who is standing by with the 2-time MVP and his MVP elbow."

Based upon past criteria, I would have voted Kevin Durant as MVP.

I lol'ed at this soo many times.. TP for you!! If only you knew how many times I hate hearing this phrase... Gosh, I'll never forget my sister and I turning the game on mute, because of the commentators making the biggest deal about that dunk over KG... p---ed me off.

But seeing it like that made me laugh so much. Good one! lolol
Sadly, we'll be hearing so much towards him... I'll be the first to watch this game on mute, I'll admit right now.
Yeeeaaaa!!!

Congrats to LeBron James.

Interestingly enough, the last player to win League MVP twice in a row was Steve Nash. As far as the 'Rookie of the Year' award is concerned I'd have to put Brandon Jennings way ahead of Tyreke Evans; if you'll remember Dwyane Wade was by far the most impressive Rookie come playoff time during the season where he, LeBron (that year's Rookie of the Year) and Carmelo Anthony were drafted and Wade is currently the first out of those three to have appeared in and won an NBA championship, as well as winning Finals MVP.

Agreed. I actually thought he was going to win it this year. He totally deserves it. LBJ is a beast when it comes to this game. It's hard to stop him sometimes, but I really think it should have gone to Durant this year..

Oh well..

Sadly, I doubt Le-Queen's ego could have handled not winning the MVP award this season, though Kevin Durant is probably more deservant of the title, IMO.

Durant has taken an expansion team like the Thunder and made them into a playoff contender and is much younger than LeBron. During the course of his young career LeBron has turned a team that was always well short of being able to compete for a ring into a legit contender, though I prefer the more serious approach that players like Durant and Carmelo Anthony take to the game - almost similar results but with alot less hype.

Sadly, all I see this MVP award doing for LeBron is further feeding the hype that has labeled him 'King James' before he has actually won an NBA championship yet but that is appearently the easiest way for nike to move jerseys so I guess you have to take the good with the bad...
