That Miami team lacks resiliency and seems to shy away & fold in the face of adversity.  Wade appeared to be the only one out there last night who showed any heart and I feel for him a bit because he's such a tremendous player and likeable guy, IMO.

I thought Wade rolled over and gave up on his team.

Wade sunk into the background far too easily for such a dominant player.

There is a man in that organization named Pat Riley...  Anyone who believes that they will go back to Miami and he will remain silent is a fool.

I don't believe Miami can't beat us...  But this is the playoffs, and things can change on a dime.  But this Heat team does appear to be out of sync, as if the pieces do not fit.  The worst fit is Michael Beasley - he doesn't fit a position and my guess is he will be the first to go...

And anyone who thinks D. Wade has cashed it in is crazy...  My respect for him also went up a few notches as he was carrying that team to no avail.  I'd LOVE to have him on the Celtics...

Completely agree, I disagreed completely with the announcers saying that Wade was the only one with a sense of urgency in there. Far from that was the case. He wasn't demanding the ball. He got hot from 3 point land at the end of the third, but other than that he was doing completely nothing.

Yup, his three's were just a symptom of his laziness. He just happened to make a bunch of them, considering he only shoots 32% from that range I'm okay with him taking 7+ threes.

Did you see him flailing the arms every time they made a turnover...he was having a temper tantrum at times. I had this discussion with someone last night,  that if I were building a team, I couldnt put Wade in the top 5  for guys I would take to start a team. He has proven that he is only successful when there are others around him.    Durant, Queen, Rapist, Howard, and Dirk were our concluded top 5 ...thats pretty sad when you think of it that you can now make a case that he'd be out of that list. I wish I knew what it was with him but hes just not scary to face anymore

Funny, but reading this thread gives me flashbacks to 2004...

Celtics got mauled by the Pacers (swept in 4, including a drubbing on the parquet to close it out) and nobody wanted to question our own Paul Pierce's motivation.

The look I see on D. Wade's face looks eerily similar to one I remember on Paul's during that series...

Let's cut Wade some slack...he is NOT the problem with the Heat, just as Pierce was obviously not the problem with the Celtics back then.

I think Boston's defense has a lot to do with that as well. Miami has to be able to adjust, get the ball out of Wade's hands early and get him moving around.

Miami may be that bad (I have no idea how they finished as the 5 seed), but 30 point wins don't just happen in the playoffs. Boston exposed Miami for what they are.  A one man show who has zero adaptability to the other team taking away option A.

See, I thought he played harder far past the point of his teammates.  I got the sense (maybe misguided) that he was still trying to make things happen up to a certain point.

I think it finally became evident that he was banging his head against a wall in futility and he finally raised his hands and said the hell with it.  I just think he was in it longer than any of his teammates.

While not the problem, we shouldn't go to the other extreme of him showing heart, and being resilient, etc. last night. Because he wasn't.

But as mentioned above me, we should credit the Celtics defense also, we did a good job trapping him and swarming him for the most part.

But if he really wanted to have the impact in this team he should be having, he should be making a better effort to get his hands on the ball. This was particularly evident in the early third quarter when I really don't remember him touching the ball, he was simply a non-factor during that stretch. It's one thing to play bad, or not have your shot falling. It's another to have zero impact during a stretch, particularly when a team really relies heavily on you for offensive output.

Miami may be bad but it doesn't bother me much. When facing a mediocre to bad team I prefer us to be the right side of the double digit lead.

I feel very bad for Wade. He's incredible with the stats he puts up as a SG and at his size. You'd think the FO would be itching to build a solid team around him. He's won them a ring and he had an unbelievable season coming off from an injury pulling that team of misfits into the playoffs last year. Do they really have to wait till he re-signs before they make a move?

Very good point.  Wade can only do so much. And to bash him for one game?

My main thing about Wade was that he didn't really try to attack the basket.  Look at his shot chart by quarter, in the paint last night he was:

3-4 in the paint in the first quarter (at least 2 were breakaways)
2-2 in the last 3 quarters

That's a maximum of 4 shots at the rim in traffic in 37 minutes.  He did shoot 7 free throws, but I believe most of them weren't on penetration.

I like Wade a lot as a player, but that's not the type of play you see when he's invested in a game.  Looked more like a Vince Carter kind of effort to me.  I think Wade's just playing out the string and trying not to get hurt at this point.  He clearly doesn't seem to be much of a fan of his teammates right now.

I'd gladly take wade, beasley and haslem.  Poor wade, his team just isn't that good.  Rest of group is pretty forgettable

I like Wade and Haslem.  I think J.O. has his moments, but not as a $23 million player.  Beasley, I used to be high on, but not any more.  I think he actually regressed a bit from his rookie year.  The biggest issue I have with him is that he doesn't seem to care very much on the court, and he disappears for long stretches.

Beasley is an idiot -- basketball IQ wise -- who doesn't understand how to effect the game unless he is hoisting up a shot attempt.

Until that changes, and it's doubtful that it does, Beasley won't become a star quality player in this league.

That is my chief reason for disliking Beasley's potential.
