With QRich renewing some old rivalries with the C's (more accurately, Paul Pierce and KG), I think it might be time for the fans to take a look at his runningmate, and fellow "washed up Celtics nemesis", Jermaine O'Neal.

I am sure many of you remember the days when O'Neal and Ron Artest were battling it out for the Pacers several years back.  The C's had a few contentious playoff series against them, which greatly resembled what this series seems to be turning into.

Of course, my favorite part of those series' was whenever JO went to the free throw line.  Somehow, the word had gotten out that he spends an inordinate amount of time getting ready for his shot...so much so, that he often violated the unenforced NBA rule that a free throw must be shot within 10 seconds of receiving the basketball.  So, the clever Boston fans decided to get in his head (and put the refs on the spot), by counting each time he went to the line.

Now, JO isn't half the player he was at that time, but after seeing how the "Rondo is Better" chant caught on a couple of years ago, after getting its start on the internet, I figured this might be an interesting experiment.

I propose that we bring back the "Count" for game 2.  Lets not only show JO that we remember the days when he was actually a decent player, and not being benched down the stretch of games, but lets also show everyone else at the Garden that every chant does not need to be prompted by the Jumbotron.

Good idea ... and I love that you used the phrase "battling it out" with JO and Artest, as they were the ones to go up into the bleechers and have a fist-fight with some fans. ;)

I love this idea.

I want to hear the Garden rocking in game 2.  Step up for KG and the rest of the C's.

The fans like to comment on how these C's don't show up from time to time but, it appears at times the crowd is doing the same thing.  It's like someone has to do something incredible to impress them.

Bring the Jungle back on Tuesday night.

TP to you as well.

TP! Great idea. I wish I could go to the game but how can we make this go viral in a hurry?

I was hoping someone would pick up on that.

so long as we don't have to do the same when Rasheed gets a free throw

I was watching the game with two non-NBA fans and my girlfriend adn told them about the 10 count for Jermaine. TP for bringing it up on the forums Chris.

We had some fun with it last game, it'd be awesome if the Garden started that again.

I should say that I can't take full credit for it.  A couple guys in my section were trying to do it last game, but it wasn't catching on.  I think it would be great for game 2 though.

Now this is a Funny Thread.

It may be in JO and Q's best interest to just let their team keel over and end it, just give up.

It's been proven that once the Garden Faithful get riled up over something, they can take a player out of his game (Mike Bibby). Just about every trip to Boston during that ATL series in 2007-2008 was a miserable showing for Bibby. He was taken out of his game and rendered ineffective by the Fans.

Now if the Garden can get fired up over JO's trips to the line, this will really get in their heads.

This would be a great idea if Jermaine O'Neal really was a factor anymore. But he's not.

Perk completely takes JO out of his game all by himself. I mean, we are talking about harassing a player that was 3 for 14, scored 8 points and went to the FT line twice. This season versus Boston, including the other night, he's shooting 20 for 51 or 39%, and has only gone to the FT line 10 times in 130 minutes.

Does that sound like a player that we need to be trying to get into the head of so that he can play poorly?

Can't we do better than to start a chant to bother a player that Kendrick Perkins is already bothering pretty easily? I say come up with something clever to harass Beasley or Wade. They are the guys who worry me on this team.

By the way if anyone saw the Bruins game last night the crowd was absolutely amazing. Even after Buf scored first, they were soon back at it in constant chorus of chants, boos, screams, etc. It waas amazing and shows what Boston sports fans are capable of.

This team feeds off of OUR energy. We know we can win on the road. Let's make it impossible to lose at home.

I firmly believe we have the ability to make that happen.
