I am proud of KG & the Celts

People can sit there and talk about how KG should've known better, not elbowed Richardson, blah blah blah.

So what should KG have done? Just sat there and let some punk like Richardson talked down to him, Pierce and the rest of the team? Yeah, because there would've been so much pride in letting a loser like Richardson mock us without defending ourselves.....NOT!!!

This is why I love KG. He's an enforcer, not a dirty player like the jackas* Noah claims. He's a true leader. When the Celtics are being pushed by sore losers like Q Rich, KG steps up with gusto and defends the team as he should.

Thank you KG!! Celts win this series and crush Miami in 5 games by the way. And then hopefully D-Wade can join us next year put the nail in the heart of Richardson, Spolestra and Pat Riley.

You'll get no argument from me.  I'm still trying to figure out how he even got a T let alone suspended.

It sort of reminded me of the time a player from the Fakers in last years playoffs 'elbowed' a player and didn't get suspended.  Of course that guys arms weren't be grabbed by the instigator and he isn't one of the league's darlings cause he curses too much.

It's both sad because he didn't deserve it and pathetic because no one should be getting suspended for something so trivial. But like I mentioned he curses too much in this PC version of the NBA.

I don't think it really matters in the 'try to get Boston beat before the 2nd round kind of way' because the C's should be able to handle Miami without KG.  Play BBD and Shelden and whomever is having the most success should get the 4th quarter minutes.  More than likely BBD due to his overall talent disparity.

Miami has little inside game so in the grand scheme of things BFD and I'm predicting a 2-0 lead going back to Miami.

That's how I feel.  I'm proud when this team gives 100% on the court and I'm not so proud when they give less than that.  I gain no satisfaction from the incident.  It just shows that QRich got under our skin.

There were bunch of other ways KG could have stood up to Richardson and protected his fallen comrade (overplayed metaphor).  In my book, throwing an elbow has always been a chicken-poop defense.

I really don't think the elbow was intentional.  KG ALWAYS flails when someone grabs him, or he is wrapped up.  He did the same thing here.  I am sure he knew there was a good chance that he would hit richardson with his flailing elbow, but I am certainly not going to give him credit for doing it to defend his teammate. 

From what I saw, KG said something to Richardson, turned his back on him, and then when Richardson came back at him, and the bench swarmed around him, he started trying to get himself out of there, flailing as he went. 

So I am not going to chide him for being stupid, because I think he did the right thing, but I will also not give him credit for being some brave guy, standing up for his teammate, and putting Richardson in his place.

I'm not really all that upset with KG, but I also can't say that I'm particularly proud of him.

Neither was a thrown elbow.  The first was a nudge at worst. The second was him flailing his arms because people were grabbing him.  AGAIN because QBall instigated it.  Of course that didn't stop QBall.  He got what he deserved.

The problem here was the KG got turned around and had the "enemies" at his back. His instincts took over. Just about anyone would've thrown a back elbow in that situation. Initially KG turned around to face the problem, if it would've left at that no elbow would've been thrown. Of course, the rest of the Heat came over and kinda over-crowded him, he just had to fight back, particularly protecting his blind side... and that's where the elbows come in.

Not disappointed in KG at all. Unfortunate situation, but let's not act as he "should've known better". It was a no-win situation for him, or just about anyone placed in that situation.

I wouldn't say I'm proud of KG since his actions had consequences for the team. I admire that he tried to protect Pierce. I just wish he could have ignored Richardson's moronic taunting and asked the ref standing there to intervene.

I understand perfectly how he got carried away in the heat of the moment. When we were kids, my mom had to take my twin and I out of all team sports and restrict us to in doubles tennis because one of us would basically start a brawl anytime someone tackled or gave a hard foul to the other twin. Ah the misspent days of my youth
