We need to go inside to Sheed a lot in game 2...I expect him to step up in absence of KG!

I really hate this coward stuff.  Just because you don't agree with his decisions does not make him a coward.

I understand. Just remember this post when Rasheed gets blown by Udonis Haslem and ends up with a 1-7 3pt boxscore...
Considering he hasn't taken 7 three point shots since January 22nd I don't think that is all that likely.

I think we can reasonably expect 40% shooting with about 4 three point shots.

Doc hasn't said who's starting yet. Even if it is Sheed I don't think it has anything to do with cowardice. Doc values veteran experience and Sheed was signed as KG insurance so from his perspective he is a logical choice. I don't agree but I can respect that.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

I think Wallace should start.  They need to take more advantage of Beasley down low.  Wallace can do that.

Let Davis be the big man off the bench.  Either way, he will get plenty of minutes.

The Celtics were going to the post early and often against the Heat to exploit the size advantage down low. This will not change in game 2 hopefully because it worked perfectly. I actually dont even remember a KG shot from outside. Then again I have trouble remembering specific details of playoff games because I get so wrapped up in them.

Rahseed did not take a 3 in game one. I dont think we'll see him take many in game 2.

You are probably right that Sheed will start but I think you may be pleasantly surprised what you see from him offensively. The Heat have no real answer for him.

And have Sheed off the bench. No, thank You. 6th Man role is much more important than a 5th Starter.

Should be Wallace.

The Celtics strategy was to take advantage of the size.

Instead of KG posting Beasley, use Wallace.

If you go small, you lose the option of posting Beasley.

  • You say when......
You are both right, it doesn't matter what we think/want..and doc would never start sheldon, heck, that game when he was hot, 12 in 12, doc pulled him....don't get me started on doc, he may have been smart as a guard.....i think he was embarrassed that sheldon did so good....he likes a team that runs itself, he just wants to enjoy a game with good seats...! but starting TA or MD on wade...well, doc just goes with the script, why use strategy, like homer simpson says "oh brain, i don't want to think, i just want to watch the game!".

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Near the end of the year the C's were playing on TNT and the announcer (can't remember who) said that Sheed is pretty much only a back up 5 now. Stating that he is not fast enough to play with Perk and guard the 4.

Baby starts, plays the 4. Sheed will come in for Perk. You will not see Sheed and Perk on the court at the same time for extended minutes.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think there are pros and cons as to who should start for reasons stated above. I think one of the factors, though, to the OP's point, is that Sheed is more likely than BBD to be PO'd if he does not start. And Doc takes that into account in deciding who to start.

I'm almost spitting out my yummy Dunkin Donuts coffee all over the computer screen in laughter. Of course Doc will start Sheed, is that really a mystery to anyone? Sheed will have an opportunity to prove he can somewhat salvage that huge contract the C's gave him and step up in the playoffs. I guarantee you Ainge is also behind this.

I think Perkins is as good a fit with Sheed as BBD is. Both are about as quick on the perimeter.

I think either option has its pros and cons.
