Bummer.

We REALLY could have used TA in this game.  He's the only guy on the team with the size/speed/strength to switch freely between Rose and Hinrich and bother both.

Terrible games for Rondo, Baby and Sheed (combined for 12 points on 4-20 shooting).  Poor games from KG and Daniels.  Average games from Ray, Nate and Perk.  Fantastic game from Pierce.

Yeah, it was really nice to watch Pierce aggressively take it to them inside tonight.  Good call.

The celtics used to be able to take games away in situations like tonight.  They just can't do it anymore.  You can't trust this team anymore to get stops down the stretch in a close game and to knock down clutch shots.

It's amazing how fast this team has fallen in so little time.
The Celtics used to be a team that could win any game, no matter how badly they were down. Now, they're a team who can lose every game, no matter how many points ahead they are.

Bummer.

  • Rondo = Good

...and it's going to be an ugly series.  Dwyane Wade could single-handedly beat the C's.

Yeah...that also means that Boston needs to shut down only one player on that team to win the series....I'm not worried about Miami. DWade isn't good enough to beat our entire team single-handedly.

Because Boston has such a great stopper starting at SG...and our key interior defender has looked great lately, too.  ::)

I think the Celtics should beat Miami, too, but I won't be that surprised if they have a really tough time with them.  Any team with Dwyane Wade is capable of winning any game on any given night.

Pierce said that these last two games mean something.  Why was he the only one playing like it?

I'm not too fond of watching Chicago fans and bench celebrating like that.  Our guys inspire no fear or awe, and I'm not sure who they can intimidate any more.

Perhaps they will find some of the determination they brought to the Bulls series last year.

Honestly, what reason do the other good teams in the NBA have to be afraid of the Celtics?

We don't need to scare any team...only beat them.
Somehow, we can't really do that either. I wonder whether the two might be related :P

Sigh.

It tells you all you need to know that we go down the stretch with an absolutely atrocious defensive player - Robinson - on the floor in crunch time. Watching his manic ineptitude on the defensive end makes me want to do one of two things: Get a ball and go play him, or get five minutes as the GM and waive him.

There have been many disappointing facets of this team this season, but none more than this group's ongoing refusal to put out the effort to be a good defensive team.

Enjoy the games, fellas. There won't be a whole lot more.

Totally agree with the lack of defense in the 4th quarter. Two years ago this team would have covered their scoring drought with great defense. They don't do that anymore, which makes a championship unlikely.

My frustration with BBD is how he is used more than his play. What happened to his jump shot? It was his most valuable skill last season, but he is now on the blocks most of the time. Put
Sheed down there were he is at his best, and put BBD as the screener to get the perimeter shots. This is a coaching mistake.

WOW - what happened to our Backcourt? Did Derrick Rose and Hinrich morph into Voltron or something, lol?

Ray had a nice game, but what happened to Rondo?

Agreed that it was nice seeing Pierce play so aggressively inside. But anyone else worried that the rest of the team just stands around and watches when the ball is in Pierce's hand? It's not a good habit for a team to pick up.

Celtics are now tied for 20th in the NBA draft and a loss tomorrow and wins by SA, OKC and Portland could tie the C's with OKC for the 19th spot and could have a coin flip determine whether they get the 19the or 20th pick.

Silver lining in the drak clouds of this season possibly picking up the 19th pick in a deep draft.

Really hoping they take Damion James from Texas.

the 19th or 20th pick in the draft is going to do nothing for this team next year. Even if the player we draft has potential Doc wont play him.

Time to tank the Milwaukee game. Rest everyone up.
