Should Celtics lose their last two games?

Look... forget about Celtic Pride, honestly we lost that a while ago.  We don't have any pride and won't have any until we win our first playoff series.

Tank the 2 games.

Miami is what.. 10-1 in their last 11 games?  Yeah D-Wade is a ref's favorite too can't forget that.

Forget about pride, we are veterans we dont need it, pride is a sin anyway.  We've lost so many bad games this season it just doesn't matter at this point. Lets drop them and pray we get the Bucks, IMO.

Miami could easily take us 7 games just riding on D-Wade's back.  The bucks we can finish off quickly and we really really could do without another 7 games first round series.

What I think will happen:

Milwaukee: W vs. ATL, L vs. Boston
Boston: W vs. Chicago, W vs. Milwaukee
Miami: W vs. Philly, W vs. Nets
Atlanta: L vs. ATL, W vs. Cleveland

This would mean the 3 seed and a matchup vs. Milwaukee.

That Milwaukee/Atlanta game should be a good game. Vegas line is Atlanta -1.

And if Atlanta beats Milwaukee tonight befoire anything else happens, does that change your stance as to what you would prefer?

Not really. Because I would prefer the 3 seed and Milwaukee getting the 6 seed. That would still be possible if Atlanta won tonight. Cleveland has been in games without Lebron and might even have some motivation to play Atlanta in the second round instead of Boston.

I think Milwaukee getting the 6 seed is the most likely scenario because I expect Miami to win out and Milwaukee to either split or lose both.

TP Nick.  I was thinking of starting a thread along the same lines after responding to your post in the last game thread this morning.

I wouldn't tank the last 2 games if I'm the C's.  I'd like to have them get refamiliarized with winning games again. 

However, the silver lining if that doesn't come to pass is that their draft position can improve several spots due to the volume of teams that have records almost the same as theirs.

Considering Kurt Thomas's flagrant foul that should have resulted in an ejection, I'd say that the Bucks were attempting to Bully just as much as the Celtics were. Without Bogut though the Bucks aren't going to do anything to us. I predict one win at the most for them.

Or at least have the starting 5 play top-notch ball for the 1st half only to get in sync these last 2 games.  Perhaps they'd even get a rebound or two in that time?

Dead on.  I'm convinced that on the wrong day this team could even get waxed by some European club.  When this team shoots for lousy they don't mess around.

I still remember Kurt Thomas bloodying the heck out of Pervis Ellison's mouth. Not a fan of that dude and his short temper.

I have no problem with losing to the Bulls.  I would vastly desire the Cavs to have to play the Bulls, rather than a pitiful Raptors' team.  I really think that the Bulls could scare the Cavs a little as Noah and Deng are finally getting healthy and Shaq really might disrupt their rhythm a little bit.

As much as I'd like to slide down in the draft for a better pick, I just feel better knowing we are giving max effort for these last two games.

As for the draft positioning, I know that Danny will do his best to pick up someone who can help us.

But let's get these last two, especially Chicago. They beat us the last time, when we weren't healthy, and they thought they were Big Time because of it.

They are a good team, no doubt, but I'd rather send a message to them..along the lines of what happened the first two times we played them this year - when healthy.

Since Chicago and Milwaukee will be trying to win, I care about winning these games. If the C's currently have confidence going into the playoffs then they are delusional.  2 wins against hungry, albeit not elite, teams will help the collective psyche heading into the playoffs.
