You can't back down from anyone, even the best player in the league. Lebron, as usual, has trouble dealing when his dominance is questioned.

Yup...thats because the Queen has been fed with a golden spoon since day 1 of his NBA career....I hope more teams try to experiment with that approach and try to get under his skin.

I am a Celtics fan, but I also acknowledge that Lebron James is far and away the best player in the NBA. I guess I don't see the need to call him "the Queen," but different strokes for different folks.

Agreed. Kinda childish to do so, IMO.

Hmm...and "The King" depicits maturity? "The Queen" not so childish, IMO.

It's sexist and childish.

Sorry to hurt your feelings...but I'm going to stick with "The Queen"....oh, and for the record, I'm not a sexist.

I think I'm just reacting to the comical disregard some people (not necc. you) have for Lebron. The guy is unbelievable on the court. Just a marvelous basketball player.

So thats why it bothers you when I call him "The Queen"?....but its totally okay for the man to call himself The King? And where did I mention that he isn't a good player?....I know he is good..pls. read Billz401's post about why some people call him "The Queen".

So, to sum it up once I don't care what you think...I'm going to use the term "The Queen" or "LeBronze Shames" when referring to the man.

Fine - I was trying to be graceful about it.

Go act like a five year old. What do I care?

Its pretty obvious that you care since you're pretty quick to reply. Something tells me that it wouldn't bother you if I refer to the Lakers as "Fakers"....but "The Queen" does not sit with you very well....guess what, "The Queen" suits me just fine....debate/argue with me if I post something ridiculous about his game/skills/ability...but don't tell me how I need to refer to him. I'm sure there are kids around you that you can discipline/preach.

You're waaaaay too wound up about this.

i do lke what james said after the game:

James was asked where the bad blood all came from.

"It comes from a tough, seven-game series,'' James said, referring to the Celtics' outlasting the Cavs in the 2008 conference semifinals, with neither team losing at home. "It comes from them wanting to be really great, them winning a championship, us wanting to win a championship. It comes from us knowing that we have to go through them and them knowing that they have to go through us.

"[It comes from] the regular-season battles we have had between me and Paul. [It comes from] the competition and that's what's good about this game. I think the game has lost a little bit of that over the years, the talking, teams not liking each other. That's the same thing I figured out last year when I walked off the court in Orlando [after losing Game 6 and the conference finals to the Magic]. People were mad I didn't shake hands. Why should I be happy? I'm not happy. I'm disgusted that we lost. I move onto the next season. That's what this game has lost. It's lost what it had in the '80s and '90s, when teams just didn't like each other."

And that is where the Cavs and Celtics find themselves these days.

"I guess it comes from us beating them in Game 7," Rivers said, referencing the same series as James. "Both teams are talkers. Cleveland does a lot of stuff."

I usually like to hate on Lebron but the speech earns my respect.  That seems like an honest answer with an intelligent comparison.  It also shows me that no matter how much the Celtics players are on a funk, both teams get up and play with high intensity when playing against each other.

Hmm. We better all write to Dairy Queen and tell them we are going to boycott their restaurants because they might be suggesting there is a gay milkman out there and he might be offended…

Enough with the "someone might interpret" nonsense people. It is very clear to everyone that Lebron "King" James being called Queen means that the person is saying he isn't quite deserving to be labeled a King, so instead gets the nod as Queen. Why try and stir up controversy where there is none?! Let's be real guys.

And to the rest of the posters...I didn't post anything to offend Fallguy....but I don't see a rule here on this blog that says you can't call LeBron ”The Queen”. I'm not the first person to do it and I won't be the last. I didn't call him  a 5 year old.

How about you both just drop it and get back on topic. If you have a problem with what you feel is a racial/sexual orientation slur report the post.

Oh and please don't quote the entire conversation every post.....

Yeah, I like how he echoes the days of aggressive rivalries from years past. More of that in today's NBA please.

Yea for once I can say that I actually agree with LBJ about the game years and years ago, where teams hated their opponents, which resulted in an epic game, every time because all they wanted to do was beat each other at the game of basketball. The passion has gone away because now its superstardom and money and media, rather than rivalry, REAL rivalry, AUTHENTIC rivalry. Even the Lakers/Celtics rivalry has gotten media hyped and died down because of money and media.

I love that LBJ sees that its missing, and im happy that he's trying to bring it back and put it into why he plays us so hard. And hates us so much.

Im with the guys that call him The Queen...or Lequeen...   the guy has been nicknamed the King and has yet to win a championship....kind of pathetic no?   You dont become king unless you rule over the rest....2nd best is usually a prince  or something, so if he wants to call himself the Prince I have no qualms about that

As far as the incident....that was pathetic    the NBA has different rules for this guy and I'm tired of it...ever notice how during referee  reviews   that he is usually standing there watching the computer monitor with them?   If KG or Doc tried this then they'd be T'd up  I dont care if he's good,  if your going to have rules  you follow them for every player  whether he is good or not and dont leave the rules open for interpretation based on how good or how marketable a player  is.    The guy has proven time and time again  that he is nothing but immature,  the Orlando handshake,  the storming to the team bus  blasting his headphones  to avoid media,  this incident today, kicking the water bottle into the crowd...but somehow all of these incidents get swept under the rug and everyone forgets about them....   real good role model and posterboy for the NBA huh?    Dont see Durant doing this

Glad we share the same views about the Queen. TP....the bottom line is...as long as he is NBA's $$ minting press, he will continue to get the preferential treatment.....and he is not the first player to be pampered in this manner.

I think LeBron is the best player in the NBA based on talent.

I think LeBron is the favorite player in the NBA among all of the refs... but when they are forced to call a foul on him (once a month?), he cries for the rest of the game.

Things that are called on other players are not called on LeBron, he gets away with swearing at the refs (As we saw today), and yelling, and stomping around having temper tantrums.

Although I still think he is the best player in the NBA, that does not mean I like him as a person. I hate his attitude and his overall "I am God" aura.

I consider myself to be very mature and am in no way a sexist. I don't call him the Queen but I have no problem with other people calling him that. I call him LeCrab, because it's funny. I am in no way saying he isn't good.

Who really cares what people call LeBron?

People have different names for different people, a lot of them are positive, a lot more of them are negative... is this debate a joke?

You're probably right (that he doesn't care). You're definitely right (he's the best guy in the league).

I think MJ won his first title in year seven. This is LBJ's year seven.

I'd pick CLE over LAL in the finals right now. They seem hungrier.

I don't see enough Cleveland games to be sure you're right, but I'll assume you're being accurate.

However, the Celtics are loathed around the league (by players and presumably refs) for exactly the behavior you attribute to Lebron.

Apparently so is Chris Paul, if the Player X column on espn is to be believed.
