Any idea what happened to instigate that towards the end? Right after LeBron bricked the 3 in transition (for the lead), I saw Tony Allen swing his arm in the air in the direction of LeBron.

I wonder if Tony was the first to let him know that he probably should've gone for the lay up.

i believe tony was talking to him after LBJ bricked that go ahead 3...LBJ went all baby and tried to keep jawing with the entire celtics team...KG was seriously swagging late in the game...and you know what...boston needs that going forward

LeBron despises this Celtics team, and I think he has ever since Pierce picked his pocket on a final possession in his rookie year.

2016 CelticsBlog Draft: Chicago Bulls

Head Coach: Fred Hoiberg

Starters: Rubio, Danny Green, Durant, Markieff Morris, Capela
Bench: Sessions, Shumpert, G. Green, T. Booker, Frye
Deep Bench: CJ Watson, H. Thompson, P. Zipser, Papagiannis, Mejri

how about a technical for that, Lebron nearly instigates a fight and nothing

oh wait, he already had a technical and he isn't allowed to be kicked out of a game...

I'm sorry, but a guy who plays as hard as he does to not have a personal foul is ridiculous, when he threw a temper tantrum that Sheed would be envious of he finally gets a tech...and I think the ref cowered wondering if he'd have a job next year after giving it

I think Tony was talking crap about how LBJ didn't want to drive on him, or take free throws to tie the game. LBJ freaked out and went after Tony.

did not see the game due to family obligations. from all accounts, it was a poorly officiated game both ways all day long.

and let me say i love tony allen. think he plays hard, i think he kept his mouth shut when he was benched, waited for his chance, and has made the most of it. he has earned minutes on this team. that being said, he should never say a word to lebron james.

I personally liked the fact that TA is not scared to get into Lebron's face. Kinda like when Barnes got into Kobe's face.

If this edge gets the C's their swagger back, so be it. They need it.

Exactly.  You can't back down from anyone, even the best player in the league.  Folk hero James Posey knew that better than anyone.

Even though the actual play was more of a mistake on Lebron's part than a good defensive play on Tony's part, to the victor goes the spoils and if Lebron can't handle some trash talk from TA he must be pretty mentally weak.  Lebron, as usual, has trouble dealing when his dominance is questioned.
Folly. Persist.

and that is what the celtics have been missing. that get in your face mojo. they need to remember who they are. today was a nice step. i love the fact LBJ bricked the game winner when he could have tied the game

Buddy, no offense...but you are a classic case of extremes...weren't you calling for dismantling the team and start the rebuilding process when we were close to losing that lead? Have a little more faith, my friend.....don't let the ebbs and flows of a game form your opinion. Peace. :)

I don't see him saying that he liked the fire in today's game as inconsistent with his previous opinions.

No reason to call a poster out regardless. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Yup...thats because the Queen has been fed with a golden spoon since day 1 of his NBA career....I hope more teams try to experiment with that approach and try to get under his skin.

I am a Celtics fan, but I also acknowledge that Lebron James is far and away the best player in the NBA. I guess I don't see the need to call him "the Queen," but different strokes for different folks.

Okay...Is "LeBronze Shames" good for you? and where in that post did I mention that he isn't a good player. Sure he is good....but he also takes the oscar for "best actor in a drama series".

BTW, incase you have forgotten...you had mentioned that you didn't care for me or my posts...just a little reminder.

well if the Cs played with the fire KG showed at the end of the game...maybe they would be a little more consistent with their effort. they played well up until the 4th then they didn't bring it like they had all day. it wasn't until the end where KG was shooting FTS that i saw it again. my point is IF they play with that sense of not taking anything for an ENTIRE 48 minutes then maybe it would curb the frustrations we all felt when the lead went from 17 in the 4th to gonzo.

yeah...this team is maddening. they look awesome for 3 quarters against the NBA's finest only to disappear. i give them credit today for taking the game despite losing the lead late. but really it shouldn't come to that. they gotta be playing like fools with their hair on fire for 48 minutes.
