Why does this have to happen in every goodbye thread?
Perhaps a goodbye thread is a cry for attention. (I don't think it is, but let's stick with that theory for now)
Isn't giving your opinion by saying "Goodbye threads are tacky cries for attention." actually a way of crying for attention yourself? Especially if you provide that opinion in multiple goodbye threads. In fact, don't we all want attention on here? If we didn't want attention, we wouldn't post on a blog.
I like goodbye threads. I think they are a valuable part of the CelticsBlog community. I don't like not knowing where posters are... There are former posters right now that I have no idea the whereabouts of. (I won't mention names because I think that's against CB rules) Goodbye threads help us so that we know where and why a poster is going. It is the posters choice to make a goodbye thread for the people they like on the blog and the people who like them back.
I think it's rude to comment on somebody's goodbye thread saying that "Goodbye threads are tacky". Whether you meant to say that poster is tacky or not, that is obviously how other people are going to view it.
If you really want to say Goodbye threads are tacky... start a thread called "Goodbye threads are tacky" and discuss it there. Don't bring that kind of stuff to somebody's goodbye thread and then try to act like you're completely innocent. You made that comment knowing it was going to turn into an argument, because that is all that happens every time.
Brick was a great poster, I think everybody would agree on that. I wish he wouldn't leave, especially over something like the Current Events forum. I hope he will come back like many other posters have in the past.
Hilarious, Brick complaining about censorship in the OP, and people now want to chastise Chris for speaking his honest mind.
I'd say this about good bye threads, it's all about how they done and delivered. I'd prefer it if Brick simply said, "I'm leaving because of personal reasons" or a simple "I'm leaving because of differences of ideas with this site" or whatever and left it at that. Instead, he kinda left with a bit of a shot against some staff members, and called out the site about censorship, etc. So, in turn, this thread was in poor taste from the get go, and calling Chris "rude" for his opinion on a thread like this is a bit ridiculous if you ask me.
Edit: By the way, hasn't Brick threatened not to post here again before, particularly due to Tony or something? I remember him or someone like him swearing he wouldn't post again if X happened with Tony Allen.
